Nest issues reset password

I can’t log into my nest app and when I try to reset password, it sends verification code to my old phone number that I no longer own. How do I change and update my number without having access to my account?

I don't think there is any way to change the phone number used in two-factor verification without having access to that phone number, as that would defeat the purpose of such two-factor verification.

Google Nest says "If you plan to get a new phone number and stop using your old one, you should turn off 2-step verification before you deactivate your old line. Then you can turn 2- step notification back on with your new number."

For Google Accounts, Google also does not allow you to change your two-factor verification number without access to your account.
