Nest outdoor wired and wi-fi signal

Older style wired outdoor camera with the round power adapter  - which bit of the kit is it that receives the wi-fi signal?  The camera itself or the round adapter thing?

We have several of the older 1st gen Google Nest Outdoor Cameras, and while Google Nest's documentation does not explicitly say so, the Wi-Fi signal is received in the camera itself and not in the round, disk-shaped power adapter, which is a power adapter only.

Thank you for that.  Saved me trying to move the adapter closer to the router!
