An answer in two halves for you.

There is the Queue 2.0 feature in Labs, but it doesn’t measure things in days. And the lowest “speed” you can go is one post per day, we believe. While this is a neat idea, it’s unlikely we’ll get around to it anytime soon.

You may already know, but we would also suggest scheduling posts. It can be a bit tedious for a lot of posts, but that’s one way to do it as of right now. And you can more or less do what you’re asking for here.

We are currently working on how we detect trending topics and tags, as it happens! And we hope to have this work wrapped up in the next few months. 

As part of other work, we have also discussed the possibility of changing how we source posts from Trending. These are currently posts that might have nothing to do with the trending topics. We have a different source that surfaces popular posts in trending topics, doing a round-robin to cover all of them. This should not be too tricky to look at, but we haven’t prioritized this yet.

There was also a Hackday project some years ago on localized trending, and we even ran several A/B tests. They didn’t show much impact, so this feature was disabled.

But as you say, it would be interesting to iterate on the trending page, and A/B test it against logged-out traffic to see if we can improve registrations. Thanks for your question here. We will look into it and get back to you with news.

There are no plans to include a function to mass-unlike posts, sorry. But there are some small workarounds, however—your best bet is a third-party extension or writing a tool that uses our API! We hope this might be of some use.

Unfortunately, we cannot make this happen. Once a post is deleted, we don’t support a way to then un-delete it. Even if we could, that would also violate the original poster’s trust. And nobody wants that.

We love giving you the ability to personalize things! And the good news is you already can do all of what you want in our mobile apps.

1. You can change the fonts. When on a paragraph, long-press the Aa icon and select another font.
2. Changing text color is also available when composing a post using the mobile app. All you have to do is highlight some text, and color pickers appear.
3. Color palettes are available on Android and iOS, too! Go to [Snowman] > ⚙️ > General Settings > Color Palette.

So it was indeed a fun temporary feature, perhaps the most fun of temporary features. But it’s a no, for now, as it would require some additional work to make it a lasting feature—which is work we cannot commit to anytime soon.

But, as we said in a recent answer, it is not inconceivable that the boops will be back in some form in the future. Eyes peeled, y’all.

We’re afraid to say it really depends. Some things can take a little longer to roll out to users depending on the complexity of the change. In the case of shortening long posts we are still running experiments and A/B tests, though it shouldn’t be too long until it arrives with you.

It may also be helpful to you to refer to this WIP on the subject of A/B testing, which we believe will also help to answer your question.

We are looking at qualitative feedback like you’ve provided and quantitative feedback: like how many people have turned off the “Shorten long posts” dashboard setting, or if people are engaging more often with posts. We have considered allowing posts to expand in-place in apps as we do on web. But we are also considering making further improvements to the single-post view on mobile. Know we’ll continue to improve!

Right now, however, a project such as this would require a lot of time and work as it is not easy to expand in-place on mobile apps. As it is, it’s unlikely we will be able to implement this feature soon.
