Today marks the start of #ArmedForcesWeek2024. This is an important opportunity to show our support for all those who make up the Armed Forces Community; from current serving personnel, reservists, veterans, cadets and their families.     JLR has a proud association with the Armed Forces community. We are honoured to celebrate the 10th anniversary of signing the Armed Forces Covenant and we have also held the Gold Award on the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) since 2015.      We have proudly employed more than 1500 veterans globally over the last decade at JLR, recognising the unique skills, experience, and dedication that service leavers can bring to our organisation.      Through regular engagement, volunteering and fundraising opportunities, JLR’s Armed Forces network remains an essential part of our connection to the wider Armed Forces Community past and present. Earlier this month we were delighted 35 of our colleagues had the opportunity to volunteer as chauffeurs during the recent D-Day 80 anniversary events in both Normandy and in the UK. #AFW24 #AFD24

𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊! ❤️This week is special for the Armed Forces Community. It's Armed Forces Week all week, culminating with Armed Forces Day taking place on 29 June. It is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets. It also includes Reserves Day on 26 June, which provides the country with an opportunity to recognise our Reserve Forces. We live and breathe these kinds of moments, as the Nation's delivery mechanism for our 'Sector Initiative' campaigns under OP PROSPER and do all we can to promote this within industry. 👉For more information on the campaign including access to logos and toolkits, see here: https://lnkd.in/g9Ki-Vi #SaluteOurForces #CommunityofCommunities #Veterans

𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 ❤️We call this our 'community of communities' approach. You'll see this every year at our National Transition Event (NTE), the largest event of this kind in the UK. That's why we've been asked by industry, the third sector and government to set up Mission Community. With our roots firmly in established charity Mission Motorsport - The Forces' Motorsport Charity, who continue to deliver 'race, retrain, recover' activities, our focus is on industry engagement at the strategic level. We are a community. Ours, the Armed Forces, a community of communities, that we continue to champion by working with others. NTE is just one way we do that. 👉Have you showcased your community at NTE? #CommunityofCommunities #Veterans #Community

Today marks the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings – the largest seaborne invasion in history, marking the beginning of the liberation of France and Western Europe.    We remember the service and sacrifice of all those involved in turning the tide in the Second World War.    JLR is privileged to be supporting the national commemorative events in Normandy and across the UK.  We’d like to thank the Royal British Legion for the opportunity to work with them and play a part in such a remarkable day.    35 members of JLR’s Armed Forces Community Network are playing a key role in helping to provide a door-to-door chauffeur service, so that as many WWII veterans as possible can participate in official commemorations.    Our former service personnel from more recent conflicts, serving reservists and family members from across the Armed Forces community have had the honour of chauffeuring Normandy veterans in our Defenders, including those who are wanting to return to France to make this poignant journey.    Being on the road together, our staff have been able to share a sense of camaraderie and watch them reunite with other veterans, as well as joining them as they pay tribute to the friends and comrades they lost.    The legacy left by all those who served from across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the Allied Forces, lives on in the freedom and democracy we have today. #DDay80 #OurJLR #LestWeForget

❤️𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 Our Armed Forces communities in industry are kept together in the main, by an army of volunteers. People often working on the 'side of their desks', to help others into their sector, industry or company. There are too many amazing examples to list here. All we can do this week, is thank them. The community of communities that you create is a national strategic asset, with volunteers at the centre of much of this work. 🫡We salute you! #MissionCommunity #VolunteersWeek #Veterans

A COMMUNITY OF COMMUNITIES- 'THE GATHERING' 👀WATCH this clip of last week's social event at Lotus Cars Europe ❤️We were joined by representatives of many Armed Forces communities from right across the UK, Veterans' Commissioners from Devolved Government, business, the public sector and charities, including our friends at Forces Employment Charity, for a powerful social gathering. 🗣️Our Chair Richard Nugee CB CVO CBE explained to the gathering how Mission Community helps others, with our CEO James Cameron adding detail about the value communities have within organisations and in society. It was also a pleasure to be joined by Johanna 'JJ' Hrycak who runs communities in both local government and the NHS about the value she places in such networks. 👉To join us next time, please do get in touch, and share this video with your community. #Veterans #CommunityofCommunities
