A COMMUNITY OF COMMUNITIES- 'THE GATHERING'
👀WATCH this clip of last week's social event at Lotus Cars Europe
❤️We were joined by representatives of many Armed Forces communities from right across the UK, Veterans' Commissioners from Devolved Government, business, the public sector and charities, including our friends at Forces Employment Charity, for a powerful social gathering.
🗣️Our Chair Richard Nugee CB CVO CBE explained to the gathering how Mission Community helps others, with our CEO James Cameron adding detail about the value communities have within organisations and in society. It was also a pleasure to be joined by Johanna 'JJ' Hrycak who runs communities in both local government and the NHS about the value she places in such networks.
👉To join us next time, please do get in touch, and share this video with your community.

So I think communities are a self fulfilling prophecy is very much the case of your people are there, you might not know they're there, but if you reach out and try and find them, then they kind of they come together. And once you've built your internal army, you've got your internal workforce of like minded people with the same mission, then it's a force generator. It is much greater than some of its parts. And the whole idea of Mission Community is to build communities. It's in the name if you like. And the whole idea is to try and encourage veterans. It's not an employment agency. We've got the FEC to do that for us and it's brilliant what the FEC do. But actually what we're trying to do is create the community where as my commanding officer, a guy called David Richards, who ended up as chief of defence. When I was his adjutant he used to turn around and say manure the ground and then the seeds will grow. But the biggest thing is if you can make the commercial case to companies for doing armed forces engagement, if you can give them the mechanisms to come up with a strategy to be able to do things, not only will they do it, they'll do it when you're not watching because it's their decision. They understand the logic to it, and they'll do it when you're not there. And what we then start promoting is the forming of. Armed forces communities of people who support each other. And as you look inwards, you can do amazing things with that. Everybody's engaged, Everybody feels better about having their people within their workplace. And I think having networks within organisations is absolutely key to promoting things like the, the, the BCH purple tick for example in healthcare or the gold, silver, bronze with the employee recognition scheme. And it's very much a case of people are already there, but they don't know what they don't know. And if you bring them together, these things will happen to you.
