In this kitchen, at this table, just as he left it, ideas soared and a movement found its voice. Reflecting on my time here on the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. I am forever grateful to have worked with the team that helped to build Dr. King’s D.C. memorial, upholding his legacy for all those that visit our nation’s capital. Vote.org is proud to be one of the 234 organizations to endorse the reintroduction of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA) in the U.S. Senate. The VRAA is a game-changer for democracy, aiming to repair and modernize our most effective civil rights law. It’s designed to counteract recent setbacks in voter access, especially among communities of color. With voting restrictions on the rise, the #VRAA is a timely and critical safeguard for equal ballot access. The Senate Judiciary Committee will discuss the new bill on March 12. #VotingRights
