Without our member hotlines, we wouldn’t be able to offer the public an easy and anonymous way to report harmful material online. Our Network Expansion team will support any prospective organisation that decides to begin the process of setting up a hotline. INHOPE is about creating global access to public reporting by setting up hotlines worldwide. We provide organisations with the foundations to tackle child sexual abuse material (CSAM) by setting up national hotlines and stopping the distribution of CSAM. How to get started? INHOPE is the leading global network of 54 hotlines in 50 countries combating online Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
About us
INHOPE is the leading global network combatting online Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The Network consists of 54 hotlines in 50 countries (as of January 2024) that provide the public with a way to anonymously report illegal content online with a focus on CSAM. Reports are reviewed by content analysts who classify the illegality of the material, which is then shared with local Law Enforcement Agencies and a notice and takedown order is sent to the relevant Hosting Provider. We support hotlines and their partner organisations through training, setting high quality standards and best practices for hotline operations, and ensuring staff welfare. We provide the hotline network with a secure platform called ICCAM that facilitates the exchange of CSAM reports between hotlines and INTERPOL. INHOPE promotes legislative and policy developments that support our vision of an internet free from CSAM. INHOPE is based in the Netherlands and our member hotlines operate across six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North and South America. In a borderless digital world CSAM has global consequences and as its distribution grows so do our efforts. This is only possible with the support and funding from the European Commission, Safe Online, NEO Philanthropy Foundation and INHOPE’s corporate partners. Join us in the fight!

Did you know? The German hotline of Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Multimedia-Diensteanbieter (FSM), INHOPE’s hotline of the month, accepts reports other than CSAM. People can report other content potentially harmful to minors, or content which violates human dignity. In 2023 alone, FSM received 9,821 of these reports. The hotline aims to reduce problematic content children and young people might come across online, adhering to the German youth media protection regulations. On the occasion of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, let's advocate for safer online spaces for all children. An estimated 240 million kids worldwide live with disabilities, and they face higher risks of abuse due to a lack of tailored support and accessible resources. Every child deserves a safe online experience and easy access to online safety and protection resources. Let's work towards ensuring all of them receive the protection and education they deserve. This includes specialised training for child protection professionals and inclusive resources for education and reporting abuse. By prioritising accessibility and collaboration with the disability community, we can create a safer internet for everyone. The vast majority of reports our network process contain child sexual abuse. We urgently need to support improvements in collaboration and process standardisation to tackle this head on. We thank our partners, like Google, who give us the ability to expand the INHOPE Network into high-risk regions for child abuse and exploitation. "Google is grateful for INHOPE's leadership, expertise, and service in the fight against online child sexual abuse and exploitation. We're proud to support INHOPE's efforts to expand their work globally and steer critical multistakeholder efforts in our collective response to this urgent, horrific crime." – Emily Cashman Kirstein, Child Safety Public Policy Lead, Google Access the INHOPE Annual Report to get more key insights and learn about our network’s impact in combating child sexual abuse online👉 https://bit.ly/48SOtZC #Annualreport #research #publication #childprotection #digitalsafety #CSA #CSAM #annualreport2023 #datatrends #innovationtechnology #network #networkexpansion #reportingfigures #keyfigures #Google #ourpartners

On June 26th, the Aviator Forum is bringing together experts from law enforcement, tech, legislation, hotlines and industry to discuss how to reshape the reporting workflow of law enforcement in tackling CSAM. Inspired by the highly successful AviaTor Seminar last year, we are proud to have put together a program with a high-level of interaction from the audience. Time to meet some of our speakers! Curious to see how AviaTor works? Join in for a never-before-seen interactive demo session of Aviator with use cases lead by Annemarie Brockmöller from tech partner Web-IQ. The ARICA project, represented by Dr. Salla Huikuri from the Finnish Ministry of the Interior and Edward Dixon from Rigr AI will take law enforcement through an insightful closed session showcasing some of the newest technological advancements. Emerick Lovasz from the European Commission will speak about the upcoming changes in legislation and the effects this will have on law enforcement. These are just some of our speakers, more will be added in the following weeks. To view the full agenda all speakers and register, please visit the AviaTor Forum website: https://bit.ly/3vKeLjn. Registration for this event is still open, but there are just a couple of spots left. The Universal Classification Schema tackles child sexual abuse and exploitation material through international collaboration. The next milestone in this initiative is the creation of a comprehensive dataset. The culmination of our training and annotation efforts to date will result in a dataset that comprises any possible combination of Schema labels. This dataset will serve as a foundational resource for hotlines, enabling them to categorise images based on their respective national legislation. It will also allow us to establish a mapping of how country-specific laws align with the Universal Classification Schema within the INHOPE network. INHOPE will be building on top of the foundational open source technology made available by the SCARt toolkit (https://bit.ly/4b54Jcd), with the integration expertise of S3group BV. "We are proud to be involved in a project that is ambitious to have a lasting impact in the field of online protection" - Gerald Schaapman, General Manager of S3 Group Do you work in online child protection?
