Child sexual abuse content can be accessed, possessed and traded online anonymously – and the U.S. hosts more of it than any other country. Every second, another report is made of a child being sexually abused online. In 2021, over 22 million unique depictions of child sexual abuse were reported–35% more than the year before. For children and young people, the decision to disclose can be extremely difficult, and a negative response to disclosure - such as not being believed - can inflict significant harm, leading to devastating long-term impacts and a lost opportunity to prevent further abuse.
