Hi @sofiagescudeiro,

Thanks for posting in the community.

That's frustrating! It sounds like your Google Nest Mini is stuck in a bit of a loop. Here are some steps you can try to fix it, going beyond the basic restarts you've already attempted:

1. Deep Dive on Wi-Fi:

  • Double-check Network: Confirm your Nest Mini is on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone and the Google Home app. Any typos in the password can cause problems.
  • Network Congestion: If you have a lot of devices connected, try temporarily disconnecting some to see if it frees up bandwidth for the Nest Mini.
  • Change the Wi-Fi Channel: Wi-Fi interference can disrupt connections. Look through your router's manual or manufacturer's website to learn how to change Wi-Fi channels. Try a different channel and see if it improves stability.

2. Software Updates:

  • Update Google Home App: Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Home app on your phone or device. Updates often contain bug fixes and compatibility improvements.
  • Check Nest Mini Firmware: See if there's a firmware update available for your Nest Mini itself. You can usually find this information within the Google Home app settings for your Nest Mini.

3. Advanced Troubleshooting (Use with Caution):

  • Factory Reset: This erases all settings and preferences, so only use it as a last resort. The reset instructions can be found in the Google Home app settings for the device.
  • Guest Network (Testing Only): (Optional) Temporarily connect the Nest Mini to a guest network (if your router has one) to see if the issue persists. This can help isolate if the problem lies with your main Wi-Fi network or the Nest Mini itself.

Addressing the Automation Issue:

  • Review Automations: Since automations sometimes start, even when you can't control them through voice commands, try accessing the Google Home app. You should be able to edit or disable the automations from there, even if the Nest Mini isn't responding to voice commands currently.

Additional Tips:

  • Power Source: Ensure your Nest Mini is plugged into a stable power source.
  • Placement: Move the Nest Mini away from walls, microwaves, or other electronics that might interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.

Please keep me posted if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Jorge.
