new nest camera in home app not showing notifications

I have an older nest camera that works with the nest app and love it got another one for the new baby and it only works in the home app.  OK fine that is something new but how do I get it to send me notifications like the nest app did?  Example when there is movement in the old camera room it says "motion detected" or something like that.  I do see in the home app with the new camera that the notifications are off but it will not let me turn them on what am I doing wrong?

If your older Nest camera is a 1st gen Google Nest camera that was installed in the Google Nest app, then notifications are still controlled by the Google Nest app UNLESS you are on the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app AND have "transferred" that camera from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app.

If you are talking about your NEW camera that was installed in the Google Home app, then you need to first go into Settings | Events | Seen Events and turn on recording for the event(s) for which you wish to receive notifications; once you've turned on recording, THEN you can turn on notifications for that event.  We don't have an Android phone, but you may also need to enable notifications for the Google Home app in your phone's settings (as we have to on an iPhone).
