Cassian has won the annual Solstice snowball fight, and his prize will be a night in the birchin with Nesta.

The taste of his victory was sweeter than the 200 year old bottle of spirits he’d won off Rhys to celebrate it, Cassian thought as swirled a bit of the amber liquid around in his glass before clinking it against his brothers’.
He, Az and Rhys had spent the day engaged in that holiest of solstice traditions - their annual snowball fight - and were tossing back the liquor to warm themselves up after coming into the cabin from the cold just as the sun was setting and the solstice stars faded slowly into existence in the night sky.
“To your victory, Cassian,” Rhys said. “You sneaky bastard.”
Indeed, the slightly underhanded maneuver Cassian had pulled which had won him the day could not exactly be called sportsmanlike, but if history were to be referenced this would not be the first time - nor certainly would it be the last - that a dirty trick was pulled by one the three Illyrian warriors to secure a win.
Finishing their drinks, the trio stepped separately into the sleeping and bathing chambers to shed their clothes and don towels, and then made their way into the birchin. Inside, the steam ran hot and thick from the pile of heated stones in the center of the wood paneled space. They each settled in a corner, breathing deeply and relaxing as they recapped each and every play made during the battle.
An hour or so later, the faint sounds of movement could be heard from somewhere outside the birchin, the front door of the cottage opening and closing. And then a faint voice calling out.
“Cassian?”
Though he would not have thought it possible to feel hotter than he already did in the steam of the birchin, Cassian felt his very blood rise to a near boil at the sound of his mate’s voice. Still riding high on the thrill of his victory, he felt a surge of a different kind of primal, male energy move through him at the knowledge of her being so near.
“Brothers,” he said, grinning. “I do believe the victor should be granted use of the cabin for the evening.”
Both Az and Rhys shot him knowing, somewhat exasperated looks, but graciously acquiesced. They stood to leave, wrapping their towels back around their waists as they got ready to step into the shock of the winter cold.
“We’ll send her your way, Cass,” Rhys said with a wicked grin as they left.
