    During the month of May Tinuiti celebrated #AAPI Month with our very own Movie Club! We watched films highlighting diverse stories, perspectives and experiences within the AAPI community. At the end of the month we came together to enjoy Pokémon being cool again, all the rage of Korean skincare, and how films like “Elemental” can relay tough social messages in a way that's digestible for all. Check out our ERG curated list of the inspiring movies we watched through the month and some additional viewing! The Farewell (2019) - A Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) - A middle-aged Chinese immigrant is swept up into an insane adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led. Minari (2020) - A Korean American family moves to an Arkansas farm in search of its own American dream. Amidst the challenges of new life in the strange and rugged Ozarks, they discover the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home. Elemental (2023) - Follows Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, earth- and air-residents live together. The Big Sick (2017) - Pakistan-born comedian Kumail Nanjiani and grad student Emily Gardner fall in love but struggle as their cultures clash. When Emily contracts a mysterious illness, Kumail finds himself forced to face her feisty parents, his family's expectations, and his true feelings.
