Cannes Lions is just around the corner, and I'm beyond thrilled to be an official speaker at this year's festival 🇫🇷 But that's not the only reason why 2024 will be the best yet: For the first time, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will host "LIONS Creators," a three-day program dedicated to the creator economy, in partnership with Viral Nation. It's a big moment for the #creatoreconomy: An official program solidifies creators as both a new class of creatives and an integral part of the marketing landscape. But it comes as the creator economy is at an inflection point: As brands finally embrace creators as content producers and marketing partners, top creators are turning their online success into booming businesses of their own. Traditional brands are now in direct competition with creators for consumer attention and spending. ✨ MrBeast is now the most-subscribed YouTube channel, with over 270 million followers. Born Jimmy Donaldson, MrBeast also runs multiple lines of businesses, including chocolate brand Feastables, and court documents recently revealed he expects to make $700 million in revenue this year. ✨ Brand deals account for 59.4% of the $13.70 billion creators will make on social media in 2024, but their revenues from merchandising and subscriptions will grow around 2x faster, per EMARKETER.
