📢 Joint Statement: Global Digital Compact Stakeholders Informal Consultation   In 2021, the UN Secretary-General proposed a #GlobalDigitalCompact, designed to engage governments, the United Nations system, the private sector, civil society, grassroots organisations, academia, and individuals to "outline shared principles for an open, free and secure digital future for all".   While we welcome this groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting human rights and fostering digital inclusion, there is a crucial need for the systematic consideration of children throughout the Compact.   ECPAT International, alongside nine organisations dedicated to children's rights in the digital environment, reiterates our call for a Global Digital Compact that prioritises the promotion, protection, and implementation of children's rights in the digital realm.
