cant turn down volume on tv with assitant

I have 2 Google Assistants and 2 Chromecasts. One Chromecast has Google TV and the other is just a standard Chromecast. The one with Google TV is in the living room, and the other is in the bedroom. When I'm in the bedroom and tell my Assistant to turn up the volume on the TV, it does so without any problems. However, when I say the same thing in the living room, my Assistant just asks me to use a remote control. What could be the reason for this and how can i fix it?

i bought the **bleep** assitants to be lazy and not get told to get of my a** and get the **bleep** remote😂

Hi Xrix,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that your speaker is not recognizing your Chromecast with Google TV. I'm here to help, don't worry! Here are some steps we can take to solve this.

  • Make sure the Chromecast and the speaker are connected in the same room in the Google Home app.
  • Try saying "Hey Google, sync all my devices.

Hopefully doing these steps might solve this situation. If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further.

Best regards,

Nery.

Hi Xrix,

Thanks for your quick reply and clarification!

We can try some basic troubleshooting to isolate this situation. Here are some steps that might help:

  • Reboot your speaker and Chromecast device. Rebooting both devices can sometimes refresh settings and resolve the issue.

If these steps don't work, let me know, and we can take more steps. In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further.

Best regards,

Nery.
