Tell it twice to stop?

When I play a radio stream on my hub {or mini for that matter) and I want it to stop I have to say it twice. It does listen to me on the first request (music stops for a second) but then it just keeps on playing untill i tell it again to stop.

This behaviour started a few months back.. what gives this time Google?

Hi realjax,

Thanks for posting in the community forum. It sounds like you're experiencing a situation with your Google Home Mini. There are a few things you can try to get your device back on track:

  • Reboot your Google Home Mini: A simple reboot can solve this glitch. You can either unplug the Mini from the wall for a minute and then plug it back in, or use the Google Home app to reboot it remotely.
  • Check for updates: Make sure your Google Home Mini is running the latest software. You can check for updates in the Google Home app.
  • Change your Stop Command: Try to use a different way to tell your Google Home Mini to stop. Instead of "stop," you could try to say "turn off" or "pause." Check out this article: Control Google Nest or Home devices by voice to get more information.

Let me know how it goes,

Daniel.

Hello realjax,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated. I appreciate your time performing the previous troubleshooting steps, but it seems that the case has not been solved. Don't worry; let's try to explore more tips.

Try to change the sensitivity of Google Assistant; sometimes your device cannot catch the command voice as you expect due to the noise. That's why you need to repeat the instructions. So please change this configuration and let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel.

Hi realjax,

I’m sorry to hear that the Google Home Mini is still not responding as you expected. No worries; let's try to perform this step.

Factory Reset: If nothing else works, consider a factory reset of your Google Home Mini. This step will erase all your settings and data. Remember to remove the device from the Google Home app and reinstall it again.

Please let me know if this step works.

Best regards,

Daniel.
