Thermostat sensor

We bought our home from a couple that relocated to Singapore and unable to get in touch.  I was able to reset the learning nest and connect to our app but the sensor continually says connect to another account.  Took battery out for 10 minutes and tried again but same result.  In settings on the nest I do not see a sensor.  Help!

Remove the batteries and leave them removed for 48 hours. This is enough time to reset the sensor.
