6 month old Nest battery cam doesnt last more than 3 weeks fully charge.

Hi,

I've bought a second nest cam battery 2nd gen and i believe the battery came faulty.

Here's my reasons and the steps taken so far:

1. The camera settings are all the same. All with the minimum battery usage settings possible. No notifications and only record when people, cars and packages are nearby. record quality is in high.

2. I thought it was the location of where I put it. i tried changing the locations to see if this changed but battery life is only 3 weeks after fully charged. My 2yo nest cam battery 3nd gen lasts 6-7 weeks fully charged and ahve tried placing it in the original location of my 2nd cam (the faulty one) and it still lasts 6-7 weeks fully charged.

How do I claim my warranty?

Hi ijtorresg,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I am so sorry to hear that you are experiencing some difficult situations with the battery and notifications. No worries; here's help!

The Nest Cam Battery is designed to record just events (i.e., person seen, animal detection, vehicle detection, motion). If the camera is connected to a power source and you have Nest Aware Plus, it will allow you to record 24/7.

Do you receive notifications on other devices for your Nest Cam? Have you checked the app permissions for the Nest app in your phone's settings? If you're comfortable, you can also send a screenshot of your notification settings in the app. This information will help me provide some troubleshooting steps for both the battery life and notifications.

With the faulty battery, did you perform a factory reset on the device? Sometimes the factory reset solves some battery errors.

Let me know how it goes!

Best regards,

Nery.
