This evening, my children fell asleep hungry because there was no proper food for them. We also walked for three hours to save drinking water. The place was inhumane and the water was polluted, but there was no other choice. Please help me cover travel costs for me and my family. War life is very tiring, especially my children who suffer every day due to lack of food, medicine and hospitals. Please keep sharing and donating as much as you can, every $5 can help us escape to a safe place and start a new life.

The food consists of unhealthy expired cheese and overcooked canned foods that are not suitable for cooking.

I've had this little idea in my head for a while now, so I decided to sit down and plot it out.
Disclaimer: This isn't meant to be some sort of One-Worksheet-Fits-All situation. This is meant to be a visual representation of some type of story planning you could be doing in order to develop a plot!
Lay down groundwork! (Backstory integral to the beginning of your story.) Build hinges. (Events that hinge on other events and fall down like dominoes) Suspend structures. (Withhold just enough information to make the reader curious, and keep them guessing.)

For confudes first-worlders: the lines to divide different generation are placed by the American culture. So you would divide generations based on things within that specific culture, such as historical events that affected that culture, technology advancement, and politics.
According to my date of birth, I would be considered a generation younger than what my familiarity with certain technologies would do. Because the rest of the world didn't change at the same time as the US, or the same way. So things like dvds, cds, iphones, etc, would become widespread later than it would in the US. Which means, two people born the same year but in two different parts of the world would be introduced to said technology (or political consequences, or fashion, or culture) while one was in elementary school and the other was in the equivalent of an high-school.
This isn't even mentioning specific cultural, historical and social landmarks common to our region. We've had multiple types of goverments one right after the other that drastically changed the sociopolitical landscape. And I'm not even mentioning the generations directly or indirectly impacted by the genocidal dictatorships we were under.
For example: My dad and his cousin five years older than him would ''technically'' be both ''gen X'' by US standards.
Since they're argentinian, my dad in his youth was impacted mostly by the return to democracy and early 90s neoliberalism while his cousin's youth was impacted by all the people his age being wiped out by the dictatorship. They are NOT the same generation.

Christine watched as Chloe wiped her hands on a napkin, probably from the condensation of the ice that was covering both of their lemonade glasses. “You still are. But it’s a good thing you did, it’s cold.”
Chloe pressed a kiss to the top of Christine’s head and sighed. “Not really.”
