Today, we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.    The Allied Landings in Normandy on 6 June 1944 marked the beginning of the liberation of France and Europe.     What happened on the Normandy beaches and afterwards shaped Europe's destiny and sowed the seed for our Union.      Our forefathers fought each other.   Today we work together for a common future.    #EUhistory #DDay80 #Débarquement #Normandie
