We must remember the lessons of history and ensure they are never repeated. The European Parliament commemorated the millions of people who were deported by the Soviet regime. #RememberTheirNames More than 2,750,000 people were deported by the Soviet regime between 1939 and 1945, including both citizens of the Soviet Union and inhabitants of the territories invaded in 1939. "From the Baltics through to Eastern European States, including Tatars in Crimea, and others - we are here to commemorate the suffering of victims and to remember the families that were ripped apart and forever scarred, across a continent." - President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola See photos from the commemoration: https://lnkd.in/eT5E7YhM
