I'm in a bit of a bind right now.
We just finished a move across the U.S. so that my wife could work at her dream job, but we got kinda screwed over while trying to buy a used car. Our finances are almost entirely wiped out as a result, and as insult to injury, the car can no longer drive.
I've never been good at asking for help; it's a terrible habit of mine that I've been stuck with since I was a child, and it's been hard for me to learn to overcome it. At this point, we need help -- our problem's not as flashy or crucial as a lot of other folk in need, but if we can't stay here then my wife's not going to get to keep the first job she's had in a long time that genuinely makes her happy. Heck, if we can get this car running it'll be a lot easier for us to stay here -- she makes decent money, and once we have transport I'll have an easier time finding work (preferably somewhere that won't aggravate my EDS, since that's gotten worse as mandated by Murphy's Law, but at this point I can't really afford to be choosy).
I'm currently researching some other options for raising money online -- I'm probably going to reactivate my Fiverr and Redbubble so I can get back to doing graphic design and writing commissions, and I'll post that when I've got it working. In the meantime, I made a crowdfunding campaign as a last-ditch effort to keep us afloat; it's written a bit more cheerfully than this post, but I've found in the past that humor's been the best way for me to keep wanting to go forward.
Don't worry if you can't donate; there's a lot of problems in the world, and in the grand scheme of things we're pretty minor, but if you're willing to share the link that'd be appreciated too. I'll get back to my usual schedule of niche jokes later. Thank you.
