For those who don't vote for Biden, there will be no consequences...for them.

The people who know damn well the president and the party in power will affect them directly know damn well who to vote for.

We need to get the rest to understand that their choice, or inaction, will have a big effect on other people, people they purport to support.

Do they make chewable multivitamins? Or like other types than vitC?

I need like a whole bunch of vitB and D but I never remember to take them cs I have to have a drink and that means the executives say No, so

Gummies!!

These are the ones I use, not sure their available in UK, but definitely something similar should be.

I take the calcium this way because the giant pills for those stopped me from ever actually taking them reliably even after I bought them.

And I'd mostly given up on multivitamins because they almost all have iron and my stomach doesn't tolerate iron (even with a meal for the most part, have to go super easy on iron rich foods like spinach), but it turns out that putting iron in a gummy does something not good to the gelatin structure, so they just don't, so I can take a multivitamin again, which is great cuz I'm kind of a picky eater and probably don't get as much balance as I ought to from my food.

Yall @chrisdornerfanclub, my partner and longtime Jewish socialist antizionist trans woman blogger, just got terminated off this hell site for “harassment of others and sexual harassment” without evidence or warning. ‼️

She’s appealing the decision. This is what she wrote in her appeal and what was in the email tumblr sent to her this morning:

Like this can not more clearly be a targeted attack on trans woman bloggers.

AITA for banning my husband and father in law from the delivery room due to their intensely stressful/creepy behavior during my pregnancy?

There’s a famous Reddit post from 2020 where a pregnant woman wrote that her husband and father-in-law were a little too comfortable with their certainty that she was absolutely going to die in childbirth just like her husband’s late mother. It was to the point where her FIL was insisting that she go ahead and put all her clothes into storage, because she was obviously going to die in the hospital and it would save them the grief of packing up her things afterwards. Like. It was WILD.

When I tell my husband [that she feels suspicious of her FIL], he calls me paranoid, but I feel like my FIL WANTS me to die; his whole life identity for the past 35 years has been “amazing single dad” (never dated or had close friends or even hobbies really), and it seems like he’s looking forward to being able to guide my husband through what he went through. At this point, I’d honestly be happy to never see my FIL again, and I certainly don’t want him in the delivery room, especially since he told me he was “putting [his] foot down” about me not being “allowed” to have an epidural…. My husband, in addition to backing his dad on everything, acts like my due date is my death date, and has completely pulled away from me.

The commenters (and me, honestly) were convinced that the husband and FIL were either going to kill her outright to fulfill this expectation, or just make decisions about her care that might conveniently let her die.

And then she never posted again.

Over the last four years, people have frequently mentioned that post, always leading to a thread of people saying, “Oh god, I still worry about that woman.” I did too. It became one of those famous unresolved posts that people always wondered about.

Until yesterday, when someone on r/BestOfRedditorUpdates dug up a 2022 update she had posted on a different account:

TLDR; I had a beautiful and healthy baby girl, and I divorced my ex-husband. I lived, obviously.

She writes that she put her foot down about having her own mother in the delivery room rather than her FIL (!), and she WOULD be getting an epidural. Her husband lost his shit. And in his outburst, he let slip--

I admittedly lost my temper, and told him that I wasn’t going to die- it wasn’t my fault his father’s trauma wormed it’s way into his head, and that he needed to fix it without taking it out on me. He yelled at me that he didn’t need therapy. That caught me a little off guard; I asked him why he went to his therapist and was given advice about my death if he felt he didn’t need it. His expression gave it away, and he caved not long after. It turns out there was no therapist. It was just his dad. During the times he was supposed to be at therapy, he was with his dad. I’m still fuming.

And that was when she got the fuck out.

I’ll wrap this up- I’ve got an adorable little toddler tugging at my leg atm. I’m alive, I’m happy, and I’ve got my baby in my arms. Life is good.

I truly never thought we'd see a resolution to this, and I feel like there's probably a good number of people who remember it, so I thought you might want to know.

I have thought about that post every week for years. I was so happy to see the update yesterday, it was such a damn relief.

Ok, real quick, speaking as a librarian, you absolutely cannot despair about the adult literacy crisis and shame adults for reading fiction books you do not personally care for or think are "challenging" at the same time. It doesn't work with kids, and it doesn't work with adults.

Here's how to increase someone's reading level:

1) Let them read whatever they choose without shame or judgment. Maybe get them talking about it using open-ended, non-leading questions to encourage critical thinking and comprehension.

2) Let them get bored after a while and seek out different books.

3) Repeat.

The guy running the New York Times admitted in an interview he is mad at Joe Biden for refusing to sit for an interview with the NYT and that's one of the reasons why the paper is trashing him at every turn.

I know many of you have legitimate problems with Biden's decision making and for that matter so do I, but make sure your understanding of what he has or hasn't done isn't being driven by this useless nepo baby asshole and his family's generations of hatred for Democrats.

When you’ve been cooking for long enough, you stop making recipes and start making “shit in a skillet” and “whatever soup”

The truth is, cooking is just a basic skill set, and once you have that skill set down you can make almost anything. It's like drawing/painting, once you learn what you're doing, you can do anything.

Pizza delivery drivers of Reddit, what are some of the craziest reasons people have ended up on the “no delivery list”?

I worked for a pizza place that was near a very large software company. Deliveries to the neighborhoods or offices where all the tech workers lived was usually pretty awesome because they'd tip rather well. But there was one apartment that started to become a concern for us drivers. The man ordering was always polite, always paid, always tipped $4, and he would have been a perfect customer. He'd order breadsticks and a salad twice a week, and sometimes he'd include a bottle of root beer. Except when he opened his door, you could see an alarming amount of our breadsticks boxes stacked everywhere inside. Not like a few on the counter and a couple by the trash, stacks and stacks of them. Even worse, it was only our boxes in there. He wasn't just ordering from us often, we were the only place he was getting food outside of work. Now, I've worked in some of those tech offices myself, I know that there's enough decent food options just hanging out in the break rooms that this guy was probably not malnourished, but the way his living space was a shrine of greasy cardboard was a clear sign that this guy didn't have a healthy relationship with our food. Our manager was a really cool dude though, and he heard the drivers joking about the boxes and asked a couple of us "Is this like a messy guy or a guy who needs help?" We agreed it was probably the latter. So on his day off, the manager went to the guys apartment with an envelope that had gift cards for several other restaurants that delivered in that area and chatted with him. Manager found out that the guy was an immigrant on a Visa who was struggling to find American food he liked, and too socially awkward to ask anyone. So he talked with him through a few menus and helped him with some recommendations. Then he helped the guy load all the old boxes into his truck to take to the dump, in exchange for a promise not to order from us more than once a week. For a little while, the manager had a note on the calendar showing the last time the guy had ordered, and a couple times he had to hold his ground and refuse the guy's order. But after that chat, I never saw the stacks of boxes again, and the guy would boast about the different meals he'd had.

what the fuck dude, this is so sweet.
