🌐✨ Happy International Museum Day, 18 May. #IMD2024 Museums are gateways to cultural exchange and mutual understanding. At Creative Commons, we're on a mission to move museums to open, making cultural heritage accessible, equitable, and impactful. This year's theme, "Museums for Education and Research," highlights the crucial role of museums education and research. By celebrating International Museum Day, we honor museums as vital spaces for learning, innovation, and creativity. 🔍 Researchers can explore content in new ways. 📚 Teachers and learners can create high-quality educational materials. 💻 Digital technologies bring museum experiences to life. We're refreshing the Creative Commons organizational strategy! Why, you might ask? 1. It would be an understatement to say that much has changed since we developed the strategy in 2020 and launched it in 2021. 2. We are building on past strategies, leveraging what has worked and learning from what hasn’t. 3. We are steering this process with the goal of returning to the core of CC, as a movement, as a community, and as legal and technical infrastructure. 4. Our goal is to emerge with an updated strategy that takes into account generative AI alongside the human act of creating and sharing; paired with a sound operational and sustainable organizational layer. More information to come! We are looking forward to connecting with you on this process and we can’t wait to hear your insights on the future of CC! https://loom.ly/YlA_h3w

It’s time for a new gallery in our Flickr through the Years series. Today we are giving a shout out to Creative Commons. Creative Commons Licenses (CC) are available on #Flickr and help share a photographer’s work with the public and provides them with the option to use the images in other publications, newsletters, blogs and more, depending on the specific CC license applied to that photo. Check out this Flickr Through the Years gallery of Creative Commons licensed images on Flickr and get inspired! #Photography #CreativeCommons https://lnkd.in/gF_RcSxf
