Despite a misty morning, we rolled up our sleeves to volunteer at Harvest Solution Farms with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and achieved great results! 🥦 We harvested over 1,000 pounds of cauliflower and 5,000 pounds of broccoli. 🥬 This produce reaches neighborhoods in need within 72 hours, faster than most grocery stores receive their produce. 🤲 Second Harvest Food Bank serves over 390,000 food-insecure families, providing over 50,000 pounds of fresh produce weekly. Giovanni Dubon, Senior Policy Analyst at BayWa r.e., met with Southeast Congress representatives in Washington, DC, to discuss grid modernization, increasing transmission capacity and the need for a siting and permitting reform for quicker deployment of solar projects. Investing in renewable energy strengthens the American grid and boosts long-lasting economic benefits through job creation. By sharing our expertise and aligning with public sector priorities, we can work towards a better energy future. 🌎 #WeEffectChange #Solar #Storage #SEIA

Antonia Castro- Graham, Director of Policy and Communications and Kiersten Henry, Senior Origination Manager at BayWa r.e. met with legislative offices in Sacramento to discuss various renewable energy initiatives. 🔌 Our team emphasized the importance of expediting transmission buildout to ensure an efficient and reliable grid not only in California but across the country. 🌾 We also highlighted the potential of solar development on water stressed land to boost the state’s renewable energy capacity and support local farmers, landowners, and communities. 🏘️ Additionally, we advocated for extending the solar property tax exemption beyond 2026. This extension is crucial for making the solar energy investment landscape more stable and certain, which helps drive more project development and ultimately leading to higher energy production. #Changemakers #IRA

Solar Energy Industries Association’s recent announcement marks a significant milestone: the United States has reached 5 million solar installations, empowering neighborhoods and communities in every corner of the country. 🇺🇸 ☀️ While it took the US 50 decades to hit 5 million solar installations, experts predict it will only take 6 more years to reach 10 million. Beyond adding energy to the grid, the spike in solar energy generation also creates meaningful jobs for communities. 🌱 With the help of the Inflation Reduction Act driving solar installations, Americans are able to lower energy costs, improving reliability and driving American energy independence. More from our team at CleanPower 2024! In between meetings and learning sessions our team enjoyed spending time together and exploring Minneapolis. 🏈 The conference kicked off (literally) on Monday, where the team practiced their football skills at the Vikings Stadium during ACP’s opening reception. A field goal contest and live music only added to the fun. 🐑 Witnessing agrivoltaics in action was the perfect way to end the conference. During a tour of a nearby solar farm, we talked about how we can make sheep grazing work on a bigger scale across the country. We’re already looking forward to connecting again next year at CleanPower 2025 in Phoenix! #WeEffectChange #CleanPower #ACP #agrivoltaics

We're more than developers; we're partners. In Mexico, we teamed up with the local organization Apinova 🐝 to enhance the ecosystem by introducing beekeeping at a solar farm we manage. Here’s how this benefits us and the local communities: 🐝 Support for Local Agriculture: Introducing bees improves pollination, boosting crop production nearby. This helps local farmers and strengthens our relationship with the community. 🍯 Economic Boost: The honey produced on our sites creates new income opportunities for locals, directly benefiting the economies where we work. 🌱 Biodiversity Benefits: Encouraging bee populations through beekeeping can support the overall biodiversity of the area, helping to maintain healthy ecosystems and preserve native plant species. #biodiversity #beekeeping #WeEffectChange
