🌟 Recapping Our Workshop Experience - 8th International Hybrid Power Plants & Systems Workshop! 🔍 We are thrilled to have been a strategic partner at the 8th International Hybrid Power Plants & Systems Workshop on the beautiful Azores, Portugal from May 14-15, 2024. The workshop brought together 160+ international attendees and featured 80+ speakers across 20 engaging sessions. Focused on Hybrid Power Plants, Hybrid Power Systems, Micro-Grids, and Island Power Systems, participants gained valuable insights into grid aspects, system studies, design considerations, and ancillary services for both Hybrid Power Systems and Hybrid Power Plants. 🌿 Our very own Ulrike Gunnemann, Head of Global Hybrid, took the stage and talked about “Empowering Renewable Hybrids by Overcoming Regulatory Barriers” and “Complex Hybrid Power Plants with Renewable Energies and Storage.” In her presentations, Ulrike shared insights about the different regulatory environments for hybrids in Europe and discussed strategies for optimizing the sizing and revenue streams of hybrid projects combining renewable energies with battery storage. Meanwhile, Miguel Gfall del Valle-Iturriaga, our Business Developer BESS, led the session on “Economic Aspects of Hybrid Power Plants.” 💬 In addition to the workshop, participants had the opportunity to join a study trip organized in collaboration with the archipelago’s energy operator, EDA - Electricidade dos Acores. This provided a well-rounded conclusion to the event, offering further opportunities for exchange and networking. 15,000 solar modules are now connected to the grid! Since last week, the Traufwiesen solar park in Tübingen has been producing solar energy. We celebrated the opening together with Stadtwerke Tübingen GmbH, MKG GÖBEL, and SCHOENERGIE. Thank you very much for the great cooperation; the result is truly impressive! “The interest of banks to finance renewable projects is still high!” That is one of the topics that were covered in an interview between energate and our Global Head of Project Finance Michael Kohn, on recent developments and challenges in financing #renewables projects. Other important aspects: 🌎 In a long-term comparison, we are currently not in a phase of high interest rates. 30 years ago, for example, interest rates of between 8 and 9 per cent were not unusual. 🤝 It is not always the best to optimise returns to the extreme since there has to be enough room to adapt to changing geopolitical or economic developments. 🚀 Germany is one of the markets that offer the best conditions and frameworks for banks and developers to finance renewable assets.
