Please join us in honoring Dick Rutan, who passed away at the age of 85 late last week. Dick was an aviation pioneer who, along with Jeana Yeager, completed the first non-stop around-the-world flight in 1986 in an airplane named Voyager. Dick had a tremendous intuition for when to wisely take chances and how to handle an airplane in challenging conditions. After a demo just a few months before the world flight, Dick made the bold decision to use Bose's brand-new prototype noise-cancelling headsets. His commitment helped us understand what noise cancelling could mean to pilots everywhere, and that learning helped Bose spawn an industry. We are forever grateful for Dick's partnership and friendship over the years. Soar high and rest in peace, Dick.

For the second year in a row, our API@Bose employee resource group will be celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month throughout May by highlighting Asian heritage and Asia’s influence on global media, music, and culture through a variety of community events and online resources. We're looking forward to the month ahead! #AAPIHeritageMonth

Throughout the month of April, our Planeteers employee resource group coordinated a series of events at our corporate headquarters and across global offices in celebration of #EarthMonth. We partnered with Helpsy, a certified B Corp, to collect textiles for re-wear, reuse, and recycling; offered locally sourced foods and composting services at our cafeterias; hosted employee plant swaps and tree plantings; and coordinated a volunteer event to create a new trail at local conservation. Thank you to all who participated!

In celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth, our Women@Bose employee resource group was honored to host a fireside chat last week with guest speaker Melissa Richards-Person. The event concluded with a vision board event, connecting employees with their personal goals and empowering them to create visual representations of what inspires them the most and supports their aspirations. We are proud of all the women who helped us celebrate this month and make Bose such a great place to work; we look forward to more Women@Bose events throughout the year!
