With international travel rising and many workforces resuming a commuting schedule, cities worldwide have been investing in their public transit systems. “Transit is an important everyday spend category that can cement our Cards to top of wallet status,” said Raymond Joabar, Group President, Global Merchant & Network Services. “For many of our Card Members in the U.S., transit purchases are a daily occurrence where the average transaction is about $2 to $3 in the U.S. depending on where you live translating to a $200B+ opportunity globally.” Read more about how Card Members can use their Amex today to tap, pay, and go in major cities around the world: https://lnkd.in/e95Cz29f

This weekend marked the start of Pride Month globally, an important time to raise awareness of the history, culture, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community, and to encourage greater understanding and acceptance of one another. American Express has a long and proud history of backing our LGBTQ+ colleagues, customers, and communities. Some highlights of our efforts include: - Since 2004, we have scored 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, the US’ foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. - We started our PRIDE+ Colleague Network in 1995 to help cultivate an inclusive environment for our LGBTQ+ colleagues and supporters. In the nearly 30 years since, we’ve grown to 18 PRIDE+ chapters across 15 countries. - We continue to work with supplier diversity advocacy organizations to expand opportunities for diverse suppliers, including the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). I’m proud of these efforts and of our continued focus on #TeamAmex to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, marketplace, and society. This month and beyond, I encourage you to lead with authenticity and celebrate the unique identities and perspectives of those you work with.

We’re so proud to be ranked #3 on Forbes’ 2024 list of America’s Best Employers for New Grads in the U.S., especially as we welcome this year’s class of interns through our Summer Internship Program. Every year, we have interns in several countries working on meaningful projects across many business units. We know they will gain valuable experience through networking sessions, time to connect with senior leaders and the opportunity to deliver great results as a part of #TeamAmex. #CompromisoSocial

It was a pleasure to sit down with David Novak on the How Leaders Lead podcast to reflect on my 40-year career at American Express and leadership style. I hope our conversation helps others develop their own leadership skills, as I think we all have to be agile learners, who are willing to continuously learn. In fact, no one should ever stop their journey of learning. You should always ask for, listen to and evaluate feedback. You should also pay it forward - making sure you're providing feedback to your direct reports and others so that they can grow and develop as the next generation of leaders.
In a new role? Ask your team these four POWERFUL questions, courtesy of American Express CEO Steve Squeri: 📈What should we do more of as a company? 🛑What should we stop doing? 🤞What do you hope I will do? 😨What are you absolutely afraid I'm going to do? This whole conversation with Steve is full of great insights like these! Listen now: https://lnkd.in/g-SCPsJx
