Earlier this month, Amex Ventures hosted an exclusive dinner focused on “GenAI and The Enterprise.” We brought together innovative early-stage founders building across the infrastructure and application layers of GenAI and executives from American Express’s technology, data science, servicing, strategy, and innovation teams.   Thank you to American Express CTO Hilary P. and Amex Ventures’ Managing Director Kevin Weber who shared insight into Amex's GenAI strategy, such as: 1) We think about three broad areas where GenAI can drive transformational change across Amex: Productivity, Protection, and Growth. 2) On the partnership front, we will explore a mix of open and closed source software and are excited to build and collaborate together. 3) Additionally, participants agreed that across all companies, data will play a key role in building differentiated GenAI-powered outcomes and experiences.   Big thanks to all the founders and Amex colleagues who joined for dinner, drinks, and conversation. We’re excited to continue to help build a thriving GenAI ecosystem in NYC. (And thanks to our partner, Resident Hospitality, for providing a truly memorable and delicious evening!)   This was the first installment of our exclusive themed dinner series – comment below if you are building in GenAI and want to get in touch, or if you’d like to be involved in future Amex Ventures dinners!

Thank you to all the incredible founders and investors who joined our "American Express and Innovation-Led Disruption" event in San Francisco last week. The evening was full of vibrant energy, insightful conversation, and the opportunity to build and deepen connections.    A special thanks to our speakers Doug Buckminster, Matt Sueoka, and Lisa Yokoyama, who shared insights on:   1) Amex’s top-down focus on innovation — and how partnerships with startups are an important piece of that puzzle.  2) Teams like Amex Digital Labs who develop pilots and are set up to be a launchpad for a startups' engagement with Amex. 3) The impact Amex’s global customer base and trusted brand can have on a growing business.    We will be hosting a series of exclusive themed dinners over the next few months, starting with Enterprise & AI and Consumer tech across dining and travel. Comment below if you want to attend or get involved!
