Last week we celebrated the 52nd running of the Mastercard Mini10K alongside our partners at New York Road Runners (NYRR) – an iconic race in the NYC community that encourages women’s strength, resilience and determination in running. It was the largest Mini 10K ever with 9,688 finishers, where we had over 60 Mastercard Run Club employees, all motivated by Olympian Alexi Pappas. We also spotlighted 11 of our local female-owned #SmallBusiness partners who were given a platform to showcase their products and set up shop at the post-race festival in the heart Central Park. To kick off the festivities, Anne Valentzas joined NYRR CEO Rob Simmelkjaer on stage, along with Citizens and New Balance executives, for a live podcast recording of NYRR Set the Pace Presented by Peloton. They discussed everything from their personal connections to running, to the impact of our partnership with NYRR, to how we connect cardholders to their passions through exclusive experiences like the Priceless Start at the NYC Marathon, to the power of uplifting women in sports, to the important role that running plays in supporting workplace culture and wellbeing.
