We at Tumblr Support love our jobs and genuinely enjoy sitting in front of a computer for hours on end. Most of us do this on our days off as well. Still, we’ve found it refreshing to go on Support Outings about once a month.
These usually take the form of going out for drinks or enjoying some other sort of fun family field trip. Unlike some teambuilding activities I’ve heard of, our Support Outings tend to be supremely entertaining and actually do end up building some team.
When you try to do something fun with your coworkers and it gets weird.
A peek into our office… We have a few meeting places, as well as a number of prints and original works of art.
In this particular corner, we have work by Seth Ganz and Deniz Ercelebi, two members of Tumblr Support!

- Fresh new 3D Tumblr logo that gets colorful when you hover over it
- Search bar moved to the left (accommodates some really long search terms—try it)
- Unread count badges are now light blue
- Activity icon is in the header, and clicking it shows you your first page of notes (and you can click “See everything” to get to your full Activity page)
- Get to all your blog stuff under the Account menu (the little human), no matter how far down the Dashboard you’ve scrolled
Having trouble logging into the app? If you have Two-Factor Authentication enabled, you are awesome and a bastion of security in an insecure world. And you will also need to follow these steps:
- From your computer, click the gear icon at the top of your Dashboard, then click “Account” on the right side of the page.
- Under “Security,” click “Generate mobile password.”
- Enter your regular Tumblr account password and click “Enter password.”
- Enter the code shown into your app’s password box to log in.
If you don’t have Two-Factor Authentication enabled or that still doesn’t help, try restarting the app. If you’re an iOS 7 user, this means double tapping the home button and swiping up the Tumblr app. For iOS 6, click the Home button twice, and then tap and hold the Tumblr app icon. Once it begins to shake, tap the - (minus sign) to force quit.
For several years, the Tumblr help docs have mirrored the Tumblr experience: clean and simple. And that was fine. But as we’ve added features and choices and compatibility and complexity, the whole Tumblr experience has gotten richer and it feels like our documentation should reflect that too.

- Better, more thorough search results
- An improved, much-more-Tumblry look and feel
- An announcements section at the top of the page for recent changes and news

We here at Tumblr work hard to ensure you can use your account across a wide range of devices and older systems, but at some point we have to throw our bodies upon the gears and say stop.
Specifically, Internet Explorer on Windows XP no longer provides adequate security measures to protect your sensitive online information from being compromised. Consequently, Tumblr will be soon be ceasing support of IE on Windows XP.
So, if you’re using XP, you’re going to need a different browser. Chrome or Firefox would be our suggestions, personally.
If you’re absolutely committed to IE, then you’ll have to upgrade to a newer version of Windows.
We know it’s a tiny bit of a pain to switch, but your security is paramount.

Have you seen something on Tumblr that violates our policies? Well, we’d love to hear about it—once. Tumblr’s Support and Trust & Safety teams are made up of actual people (Hi! I’m Nicole!) and we read every single message you send us, despite how small our teams are.
What happens after we read a message? We investigate it! Right away. So, when we get another message about the same issue, there’s not much more we can do about it. And when we get 10,000 more messages about that issue, well, there’s still not much more we can do about it, and we have to review all 10,000 of those messages before we can move on to other matters. If you ask your friends and followers to report the same thing that you just did, it makes it harder for us actual humans to address all of the issues that need addressing.
We need vigilant people like yourself to keep this site awesome, but trust that any problems you find can be solved with a single email. We swear it.

🌟 New
- Starting with version 34.5 of the iOS app, iOS 15 is no longer supported. Please update your device to iOS 16 or higher if possible, the latest as of today is iOS 17.5. If you cannot, tumblr.com will still work in Safari or your browser of choice.
🛠 Fixed
- Twitch embeds have been fixed.
- In the Android app, folks using Android 10 or higher can download images again with version 34.5 or higher of the app.
- For a brief time, password reset emails were not sent yesterday. This was fixed quickly, so please send a new password reset if you need it, and please contact support if you still haven’t received it.

- In the iOS app, we are aware that blog descriptions of a very specific length are truncated and not expanding on tap.
