INHOPE is the leading global network of 54 hotlines in 50 countries combating online Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Over ons
INHOPE is the leading global network combatting online Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The Network consists of 54 hotlines in 50 countries (as of January 2024) that provide the public with a way to anonymously report illegal content online with a focus on CSAM. Reports are reviewed by content analysts who classify the illegality of the material, which is then shared with local Law Enforcement Agencies and a notice and takedown order is sent to the relevant Hosting Provider. We support hotlines and their partner organisations through training, setting high quality standards and best practices for hotline operations, and ensuring staff welfare. We provide the hotline network with a secure platform called ICCAM that facilitates the exchange of CSAM reports between hotlines and INTERPOL. INHOPE promotes legislative and policy developments that support our vision of an internet free from CSAM. INHOPE is based in the Netherlands and our member hotlines operate across six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North and South America. In a borderless digital world CSAM has global consequences and as its distribution grows so do our efforts. This is only possible with the support and funding from the European Commission, Safe Online, NEO Philanthropy Foundation and INHOPE’s corporate partners. Join us in the fight!

Over 180 attendees joined our latest Expert Insights Webinar with Henry Adams and Danielle Williams, Risk Intelligence Experts from Resolver, a Kroll Business. The session focused on the critical issue of child safety in the era of Generative AI. Our speakers outlined the emerging threats posed by GenAI and how bad actors exploit social media platforms to gather and misuse content. They highlighted the direct link between GenAI and the production of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), and recommended advanced techniques to identify and address predatory behaviour. While current strategies exist to mitigate these risks, Henry and Danielle emphasised the necessity for industry-wide collaboration and a unified approach to effectively combat these threats and safeguard children from exploitation. The CPORT Portal provides Law Enforcement access to ICCAM - the centralised secure platform used by INHOPE Hotlines worldwide. The secure web-based platform can be used by LEA to quickly and safely access public reports on CSAM that are relevant to their jurisdiction. This grants LEA access to a larger extent of information coming from Hotlines, including collateral non-illegal imagery for investigative support. INHOPE Hotlines have closely cooperated with Law Enforcement for over 20 years and the CPORT portal will allow LEAs to take the cooperation with their national hotline to the next level. Abby Roberts, our Project Manager, has been instrumental to major INHOPE achievements, particularly the launch of the Universal Classification Schema, which has been a testament to the dedication of our partners and network. “The Schema will help overcome some of the data comparability and sharing issues we face in the child safety online space.” - Abby Roberts, INHOPE. Since joining in 2019, she has witnessed INHOPE grow significantly, expanding the network, securing diverse funding, and tripling the team size. She has overseen Project ESCAPE, which resulted in 4 new INHOPE members, TIDES which allowed us to expand our Content Assessment training programme to Asia and Latin America, and the Better Internet for Kids programme. Looking ahead, Abby has clear goals in mind: • Strengthening global partnerships for data harmonisation and process standardisation. • Driving innovation internally and externally to adapt to evolving organisational and online child protection landscape. • Supporting joint advocacy efforts in the face of looming global regulatory changes.
