Good point! Continuing…
I feel Dracula would pose as a tourist since Japan treats guests better than it does immigrants, at least until he amasses enough power and money to make people treat him with the proper respect he feels he deserves despite his obvious foreign nature.
I’m also thinking Manta Ray and Moth themes for two of Dracula’s minions.
Dracula’s main character flaw would be he’s so darn extra ( as people going over the book on tumblr have recently noted). He develops an addiction to kaiju blood, maybe not for necessarily properties of the blood but by having an addictive personality and placebo effect. Depends on what the plot requires, I might make it actually empower him if it suits the direction of the story.
Course it also could bring up self esteem issues , since I’m picturing Dracula prides himself on being a predator rather than a parasite or “miserable vermin” like he sees other vampires; a character could get inside his head by comparing him to a tick.
Godzilla gets involved in the plot because Dracula’s kaiju thralls pick a fight with him when Dracula is too preoccupied to monitor them by mental control. He orders them to pull back when he notices what’s going on, but by then it’s too late and Godzilla has a grudge and eventually pursues them onto land.
(Godzilla doesn’t necessarily want to murder the thralls at this point but he wants to reestablish dominance, he hasn’t fully picked up the tainted nature of his foes since they are living thralls. Vampires get along well with animals so I feel they’re one supernatural menace animals wouldn’t sense the wrongness of like they do with ghosts or demonic possession.)
