Another high-risk V8 vulnerability was disclosed (CVE-2024-4947). For that reason, another release of Supermium 122 has been made. Provided there are no further high-risk vulnerabilities, the next Supermium release will be in mid-June.

Some other changes were made:
-(#573) - lazy composition disabled by default due to isolated rendering bugs on Windows 7/8.1, use --force-lazy-compositor to disable

-(#568) - #compact-ui now covers bookmark bar
-(#578) - Supermium uninstaller now available, and shortcut is created in Start Menu/Programs

-(#580) - 8px tab strip gap becomes optional, split into --old-tab-strip-bounds
-(#569) - Supermium installer now has commands for silent mode, Use -y --silent combined with a variety of flags to invoke. --system-level installs Supermium to Program Files while another path can be specified using "--path=%PATH%" (there is no "default path" so one of these two flags must be present).
Other flags that can be used:
--install_emoji: installs Segoe UI Emoji
--shortcuts: creates shortcuts
--no_registry_writes: does not write to registry
--ungoogled: enables Ungoogled mode in shortcuts
--classic_theme: enables classic theme in shortcuts

For users who have difficultly applying flags through the chrome://flags interface, the core "classic" switches can be made part of the Supermium shortcut in the installer, or be used through a script in the Supermium folder named "Supermium (Classic)". Similar options are available for ungoogled-supermium mode, to help ensure that the user does not compromise their privacy by ever opening the browser in "googled" mode.

-Reported Media Foundation screensharing crashes on Windows 10 fixed
-(#441 and others) DirectWrite rendering of PDF documents fixed on Windows 8 and above
-(#307) Rectangular tabs introduced with --rectangular-tabs switch
-Outline around square address bar/Omnibox introduced with --classic-omnibox switch
-(#431, #474) --ungoogled-supermium switch, blocks all involuntary connections to Google, can be invoked in installer-created shortcut. Level of access to Google services is similar to stock ungoogled-chromium
-(#471) Internet Options now accessible from "system proxy settings" button in Settings
-(#477, #498 and others) File dialogs on Windows XP now save with default extension appended, except for "All Files" where no extension will be appended
-(#505) Further optimizations introduced
- --classic-omnibox introduced to reduce rounding of Omnibox elements; --classic-omnibox-border introduced
to provide grey borders
-(#359) --disable-alternate-ds switch removes alternate data streams from downloaded items
-(#507) Loading of very large images with compression rates greater than 99% in certain cases is blocked, especially where the images will allocate hundreds of megabytes of memory (specifically, subreddit icons on modern Reddit).
-(#515) Password manager crash fixed on Windows XP/2003

-Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 support restored, including x64. Self-extract or use the portable distribution available
through the Supermium Plus Package on https://www.patreon.com/win32 as the regular installer does not work on XP/2003.
A new installer will be developed to resolve the shortcomings of the regular installer.
There should be few caveats compared to Supermium on other platforms, with exception of hardware
acceleration and some issues with printing of web pages.

-New branding and new interface elements, specifically with regards to tabs. Trapezoidal full-sized
tabs are the default, but the following options in chrome://flags can be used to customize the tabs:
#custom-tab-shapes - if disabled, reverts the tabs to the standard Chrome look.
#override-tab-outline-default - black outline enabled by default with trapezoidal tabs, but not rounded tabs.
#override-new-tab-button-shape-default - toggles between rounded new tab button and trapezoidal new tab button.
#compact-ui - reduces the padding of the address bar and the tabs.
#transparent-tabs - introduces some level of transparency to tabs (best with Aero Glass enabled)

-Many new flags from ungoogled-chromium. There are too many to list, but they include:
#tab-hover-cards - disable tab hover cards
#custom-ntp - set a custom new-tab page
#disable-sharing-hub
#clear-data-on-exit

Other flags will be shown in chrome://flags with "ungoogled-chromium" attribution in their descriptions.

-In particular, the flags #disable-encryption and #disable-machine-id now make Supermium user data portable
if enabled. The "portable" distribution will have a launch script with these flags enabled as well as a data
directory in the same directory as the executable.
-The option to restore the download shelf has been restored with the use of flag #download-bubble. to disable the download bubble.
-Flag #power-bookmarks-side-panel has been restored.
-Click-to-Call feature restored.
-GDI offsets in UI fixed. GDI crashes resolved.
-Rendering issues with tooltips and other UI elements should be resolved.

Please note that 2 CPU threads and at least 768 MB of RAM is recommended. We will make attempts to improve
performance on single-threaded systems for future releases.
