• In Communities, hovering over a reaction will now reveal who the 10 most recent reactions came from.

🛠 Fixed

• Fixed a bug on Web where entering fullscreen on an embedded YouTube video could make the embed disappear from the post.
• We fixed a bug that was allowing non-Community-members to vote in polls created inside Communities. Only members should be able to vote in polls inside Communities, at least for now.
• In the latest release of the iOS app, the ability to mute posts has been fixed.

• We are aware that Twitch videos are no longer embedding.
• We are aware that some folks are hitting a rate limit while using a VPN.
• In the iOS app, we are aware that blog descriptions are truncated and not expanding on tap.
• In the iOS app, we are aware that some Ad-Free Browsing renewals are not going though. Please contact Support if that has happened to you.
• In the Android app, we are aware that images are not downloading for folks with Android 10 and higher. A fix is planned for the next release.

Hello, Tumblr! (And a special hello to our Tippers <3)

We introduced Tipping back in February 2022 in response to your feedback, and it’s been a great addition to many communities on Tumblr. We do love to launch features that bring you joy, and Tipping was a part of that effort.

Unfortunately, Tipping hasn’t seen the usage we’d hoped for. So, in order to focus on the things that really make Tumblr Tumblr for most users, we’re shutting Tipping down on June 1.

Have you tipped someone in the past, or is Tipping enabled on your blog? You don’t need to do anything; the little Tipping icon will automatically disappear from blogs or posts with the feature enabled, and you’ll no longer be able to Tip creators or receive Tips. Any money you have received from Tipping will be paid out to the account you registered with via Stripe by June 15.

While this will affect a very small number of you, we know that those of you who do Tip do so with great admiration for your Tumblr peers, and we’re sorry to be taking this away from you. We hope you can find other ways to show your affection and gratitude for your fellow users: You could gift someone a badge you think they’ll love or Blaze the post you’d otherwise have Tipped, and that will surely make someone’s day.

• For Communities admins, we’ll now filter out people who are already a member when trying to fetch their pending invite.

• Internal links were not working in the iOS app. This has now been fixed in the app’s latest version.
• Images may have been periodically failing to load for some iOS app users. This has now been fixed.
• Scrolling Tumblr may have been slow for some Firefox users. This has now been fixed.
• Closing a new post editor on the web will now return you to where you left off, rather than always redirecting you to the Dashboard.

• Dailymotion videos could not be posted for a short time, this has now been fixed.
• Some of you were unable to scroll your followers in the iOS app, this has now been fixed in version 34.1 of the app.

• Don’t want search engines to crawl your blog, but still want your posts to appear in Tumblr search and in-blog search? We’ve now split the existing setting for excluding your blog from search into two, letting you choose to hide posts from external search engines, Tumblr search, or both! If you previously had this toggled on or off, your existing preference was copied to the new setting.
• Speaking of search, we have increased the limit of indexed tags from 20 to 30. This only applies to new posts.
• We now have an exciting Known Issues on Tumblr doc, please feel free to check it out.

🛠 Fixed

• SMS text Two-factor Authentication codes were not arriving, and this is now fixed. For a more secure experience, we recommend using an authenticator app for your Two-Factor Authentication codes, and don’t forget to save your backup codes!
• Some ads were stopping people from scrolling for a few seconds, this has been fixed.
• With Bing’s policy change to no longer use content they index for their search engine for AI training unless opted in to, we are now allowing Bing to index posts from blogs that allow search indexing. We continue to discourage Bing’s crawling for AI training.

• If you’re using Avast, it’s currently incorrectly blocking the ability to use messaging in real time on the web. We’re working to clear this up with them.
