“How to draw in less than a minute” (Speed up the camera)
Tumblr was nice enough to have me as a featured artist during New York Comic Con this year. This is a little video we made of how I do a Darkwing Duck headshot.
James Silvani aka @silvaniart was kind enough to meet up with us at NYCC to do an inktober time lapse of Darkwing Duck just for the Tumblr community!
James Silvani is cartoonist and illustrator living in Hawaii. He draws comics for various publishers and wrote a book about drawing dinosaurs called DRAW-A-SAURUS.
Silvani is perhaps best known to Disney fans for having illustrated every issue of Boom! Studios’ Darkwing Duck comic book.
Outside of Disney, Silvani has also drawn artwork for other companies’ franchises such as Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Animaniacs, as well as drawing artwork for the stories written for Ape Entertainment’s Richie Rich comic book.
Draw-A-Saurus is a “how to draw” book about dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. It teaches the young artist to start with the simplest stick figures to create the dinosaurs of their dreams.

My name is Spartaco Margioni, an artist, animator, illustrator, who strives to produce the highest quality art with a whole lot of style. For over twenty five years, I’ve worked for Disney, Nickelodeon, Random House, Mondo Media, Broderbund Software, Sierra On-Line, Sega, and Mattel Interactive to name a few of my clients. Over the years, the knowledge, experience, and drive to create anything that was needed for a project, continues to drive myself to push the boundaries of the work. Most recently, working on my own development work for an animated short concept that’s been dear to me. My style is characteristically fun, playful and always arouses curiosity in my work to see more. Having worked for so many different companies and projects, the art, work and passion to keep creating, keeps evolving to push the boundaries of the art. I just love life, happily married, two dogs, and working on my writing, illustrating, my own children’s book. Ciao.
Nice to meet you, Spartaco! Below are some pieces he has picked out for you all to appreciate.
