How to come to Berlin

Berlin has two main airports: Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF). Depending on your city of departure and flight company, you will land in one of these. Tegel is closer to the city and you will reach the venue in about 40min, when Schönefeld is more distant and you may need around 1 hour in public transport to reach the venue.

The main international train station is Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Central Station).

You can also come to Berlin by bus, using one of the long-trip bus companies. Several stops are possible: if possible, we advise you to arrive at Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) or Alexanderplatz.

Route planning

You can use the official BVG "FahrInfo" app or the BVG website. You can also use Google Maps that access the transport data in real time.

Some incidents can occur, trains being cancelled or alternative routes with bus offered. These incidents should be listed on the BVG website (in German only).

Tickets

If you stay inside Berlin (zones A and B), you can take a trip ticket or a day ticket, that you can use in U-bahn, S-bahn, tram and bus.

You can buy the tickets on automatic machines near every station, in the airport, directly in the bus and the tram. Always look for the yellow BVG machines or stands.

If you land and takeoff at Schönefeld airport, you will also need a special ticket for zone C.

4-trips ticket Berlin AB (valid like 4 single tickets): 9€
Day ticket Berlin AB: 7€

Don't forget to stamp your ticket before your first trip:

U-bahn and S-bahn: usually on the platform of before taking the stairs leading to the platform
Bus: inside the bus on the front
Tram: inside the tram

Tip: unless you plan to stay longer in Berlin and visit museums, do not take the Berlin Welcome card. Its high price includes entrance or reductions to museums.

Alte Pumpe (Lützowstraße 42, 10785 Berlin) is the venue for the social event on Saturday evening. It's at a 10-15min walking distance from the venue or Motel One.
