The truth is... in the past, I've been so bad at participating in tag games after being tagged. And there is a singular reason for that: I don't know who to tag! And the mental effort of finding X number of people... sometimes makes me not reply. Which is sad, because I'm always happy to get tagged and want to participate!

Also I realise many other people would probably love to be tagged. So I finally realised that... I can make this post! You can let me know! I can add you to some sort of list, tag you lots and everybody's happy.

(Don't know why it took me years to realise this!)

I never normally work in cafés, but I realised recently that I am actually... absolutely allowed to do that? 😅 And it's so nice?

So I'm giving it another try today. I have a really delicious blueberry banana bread (already half-eaten, oops!). And I'm posting here for accountability. Because the goal is to write 1000 words within the next two hours!! 💻🍰☕️

Okay, I was super uninspired and tired today, so I absolutely had to brute-force it. But in the end, I wrote 997 words within a little under 2 hours. The draft is not... great. But it will have to do for now. (I have until Friday to get this done.)

Today I submitted my first ever first-author paper to a journal! I put so much work into this manuscript and yet the project is far from complete. I might get desk-rejected and will then have to prepare it for the next journal. Reviewers will have plenty of criticism, I'm sure.

But anyway! In this house we celebrate milestones along the way, so yayy!! 🎉🎉🎉 Also now I know what the submission process looks like and how to navigate it.

Bit annoyed at myself because I took so long to get ready this morning, but I'm now in a lovely little café.

I'm working on a project proposal today, and I need to get a lot of work done. It's all conceptual work/thinking, though, so sadly I can't really force it. Wish me luck! ☕️📚💻

Okay, I think I have an outline. The afternoon should will be spent actually writing a first draft.

Alright, so I've only written around 500 words. But I've actually written several THOUSAND words and these 500 are the ones that survived the culling lol

I was definitely struggling a bit with motivation today, but I ended up finishing a complete, somewhat decent draft. This morning I had 1.5 pages, now I have 6. So that's something, right? Tomorrow I'll properly reference my sources and revise everything. Then hopefully in the evening I'll have something that I could hand in if all else fails and I don't manage to revise it further?

YAYYYY I have a finished proposal now!! Including references and all, and the length was actually perfect. For the first time in probably ever, I didn't need to cut anything.

I'll be off sending this to my mum now haha

(She has a PhD herself and is always super curious about my work and more than happy to proofread and give feedback.)

Guyyssss, I just found out that I got the highest grade for my master's thesis, which also means that my overall GPA is perfect! After having a really hard time with my thesis in November, this makes me so, so happy! 😍😊
