Aegon giving away all the crowns resources back to the small folk
Otto Hightower:
"perhaps we can just return HIS sheep, he came all this way"
God I fucking love this little shit
I knew Aegon was gonna be my favorite this season I didn’t expect to like him THE SECOND he came onscreen
All I’m saying is that I can’t wait for unhinged Aegon and Aemond
god rest my soul, I miss who I used to be, the tomb won’t close, stained glass windows in my mind. I regret you all the time
You know at first I was just upset that we never got any Helaena/Dreamfyre interactions (which is Bs cause Dreamfyre’s the best) but now I’m even more upset at GRRM’s ableist implications that Helaena’s depression literally made her unfit to be a Dragonrider.
GRRM meet me in the parking lot at Dawn.
Anyway the Green Council stays the best episode of season one, die mad about it
Team Black: raging over how their disaster white boy ended up being a wife abuser and neglectful father consistent with his character instead of the headcanons they made up about him in their head
Me, relaxing over in the corner cause I chose Criston as my fave in episode one and haven’t wavered or looked back since:
You guys can’t get mad when your wife-killing, daughter-neglecting, misogynist fave chokes out his wife onscreen when the show has been telling you for ages that he’s a wife-killer, neglectful father, and groomer.
Yes this is about Daemon Targaryen.
You all want him to be Aemond so bad.
I will say, Team Green stays winning.
Team Black was ready to drag Aemond for murdering Luke in cold blood and starting the war but y’all can’t even do that anymore adjsksjskkss
Not Mysaria straight up telling Otto “the only power you have is what the people allow you to take”
And then Rhaenys straight up murdering a bunch of King’s Landing smallfolk with her dragon and still the showrunners expect us to believe that “civilian deaths don’t matter”
The Storming of the Dragonpit says otherwise.
Nah because as much as I loved that scene between Rhaenys and Alicent and how it possibly sets up Alicent’s motivations later in the Dance, that line where Rhaenys is lecturing Alicent about her doing everything in service to men bugs the shit outta me.
Rhaenys should know better than anyone how hard it is for a woman to amass power in Westeros even with the right claim. I understand why she is Team Black (she doesn’t want to see Rhaenyra usurped like she was) but Rhaenys should also understand why Alicent wants a window in her prison instead of freedom.
Alicent even spells it out for her. “We do not rule but we guide the men who do”. Westeros is a patriarchy and Viserys has done nothing to legally change that.
To shame Alicent for not being a modern feministTM in a medieval society is out of character for Rhaenys in my opinion especially because she was the one who told Rhaenyra at the beginning the truth Alicent knows.
“Men would rather put the realm to the torch than see a woman ascend the Iron Throne”.
Rhaenys has been doing exactly what Alicent has been doing and trying to amass power any way she can within the confines of the patriarchy in Westeros, so to have her shame Alicent for doing the same thing feels wrong and the worst kind of projection imaginable.
Thinking about how it’s canon that Viserys knew Otto was forcing Alicent to read to him and comfort him and talk to him and yet he was so selfish and so pleased by the fact that she was giving him attention that he just…went along with it?
Like he knew that marrying Laena, a girl three years younger than Alicent was wrong, and he KNEW that Otto was forcing Alicent into that position and he just…didn’t care. He forced her into a marriage she didn’t want, forced three kids on her before she turned twenty, and then proceeded to not only ignore her but ignore his children by her because they didn’t turn out the way he wanted them to.
Thinking about how he started to resent Alicent the moment she showed up in Green at the wedding because she dared to have a mind of her own. And how that led to him neglecting her and her children (because they are hers) for sixteen years.
I hope Viserys Targaryen is rotting in the depths of hell.
Criston, a man of color: murders Joffery Lonmouth, a white man who taunted him about his stained honor, in a moment of uncontrolled rage
The Fandom: OMG WHAT A BITCH! INCEL! HE KILLED A GAY MAN HE DESERVES TO DIE
Daemon, a white man: murders Vaemond Velaryon, a black man who was the uncle to his first wife technically his kin, for speaking the truth about his bastard children and defending his family’s claim to Driftmark which Rhaenyra is not entitled to
The Fandom: OMG YES KING! SLAY THAT BITCH! #MALEWIFE! WHAT A REAL MAN
I personally think to offset the power of the dragons everyone in Westeros should have a gun.
