Nothing’s affordable sub-brand is teasing its first smartphone.

CMF by Nothing’s “Phone 1” looks like it will have a cool rotating dial — perhaps like the CMF Buds. You can see a few more teases of the phone on CMF by Nothing’s X account, and for rumored specs, check out 91Mobiles.

The Phone 1 will be announced on July 8th at 5AM ET alongside the Buds Pro 2 and the Watch Pro 2.

Backbone and Post Malone have collaborated on a new translucent green smartphone controller.

It will be available starting on June 25th and will update the original Backbone One controller with a translucent green shell (reminiscent of the Jungle Green N64), laser-etched buttons, an aluminum D-pad, and glow-in-the-dark Post Malone branding.

The Backbone One: Post Malone Limited Edition Controller will be limited to just 500 units, and that exclusivity is reflected in its $199.99 price tag.

You can customize the mechanical keyboard on this distraction-free digital typewriter.

Un Kyu Lee’s Micro Journal Rev.6 is a purpose-built writing tool that trades the polish of Astrohaus’ Freewright devices for a cheaper price tag. The $169 kit pairs a hot-swappable keyboard with a monochromatic LCD display, a 30-hour battery, and wireless Google Drive syncing. The design files are also available through GitHub, eventually letting anyone 3D print and build their own.

You can build this retractable glowing lightsaber using an old-school magic trick.

Disney’s “real” lightsaber wowed us with a glowing blade that extended and retracted, but since it refuses to sell it to Star Wars fans, the YouTube channel HeroTech made its own using LED strips, motors, and a magician’s cane. The effect is convincing, and if you’ve got the engineering skills you can even buy the plans to build your own.

Logitech is reportedly announcing a $130 Meta Quest stylus.

Called the Logitech MX Ink, it will work on the Quest 2 and Quest 3, and can be used to draw in 2D on surfaces or 3D using “full 6DoF positional tracking,” according to UploadVR.

The MX Ink will have haptic feedback, pressure sensitivity, multiple buttons, and will support a double tap feature. Users will reportedly be able to seamlessly switch between it and Quest Touch controllers.

Whosoever holds this hammer lock, if they be worthy, shall possess the power tools of Thor.

I think most people will be worthy, considering how easy it is to unlock this lock shaped like the MCU version of Thor’s hammer.

Truth be told, I’d still find something to use it for.

Rest in peace, Siri watchface.

The Siri face no longer exists, at least in the watchOS 11 developer beta, according to AppleInsider. If it’s gone in the release version this fall, that may be the first watchface ever retired, the story notes.

The Siri face debuted with the Apple Watch series 3. Its big idea was that it would surface info as you need it, but new Smart Stack features may make it redundant.

Tag, Moto’s it.

Looks like Motorola will be the next company to get into the tracker tag game. MySmartPrice spotted the Moto Tag on a UAE certification site, and seems to be an extremely likely candidate to join Google’s Find My Device network.

There’s no information about a potential launch date, but the sooner the better — tracking tags from Chipolo and Pebblebee are both on backorder.

Winamp lives on in this custom touchscreen stereo.

The iconic desktop media player has enjoyed several revivals, but none as technically impressive as Rodrigo Méndez’s Linamp.

Powered by a Raspberry Pi 4B, the stereo’s touchscreen interface features Winamp’s recognizable UI, allowing music to be played from CDs, storage drives, and even Spotify. Most of the iconic Winamp features are there, including playlist editing, but those hypnotic visualizers are, unfortunately, MIA.

Raspberry Pi is now a publicly traded company.

Shares in the mini computer maker are now available on the open market for retail investors, after an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange earlier this week. By listing, the company aims to produce additional, more affordable hardware models.

Raspberry Pi’s share price is 480 pence at the time of writing, having surged by over 70 percent since listing its IPO for 280 pence earlier this week.

Jimmy Choo knows what’s up.

Honor launched its first clamshell style foldable today, the Honor V Flip, with a Haute Couture Edition designed by the fashion legend himself. Apparently he’s taking advantage of the big 4.0-inch cover screen and embracing the whole phone-on-your-shirt concept I’ve been experimenting with. I think he wore it better.

The V Flip is up for pre-order today — but only in China. It starts at 4,999 yuan.

This amazing knockoff GBA SP comes stuffed with software piracy.

I am so torn. The Anbernic RG35XXSP — which I’ve mentioned here before — is a beaut. I love handhelds, I love emulators, and I’ve got my own Game Boy cartridges and access to a GB Operator so I can (legally?) back ‘em up.

On the other hand, Anbernic is shipping these with truckloads of pirated ROMs! Didn’t ask for those; I’d happily buy without.

Bambu Lab has officially recalled 12,800 3D printers.

Remember how the Bambu A1 had a worrying heatbed cable issue, and recalled and offered refunds for every printer to be safe? The US CPSC has just blessed that February recall, revealing “all of them” was around 13K printers in total. Bambu moved quick — in fact, the printer already went back on sale in late April with a revised cable.

Personally, I prefer the P1 series.

The Light Phone 3 is a little less light — but a lot more useful

Striking the right balance for a minimalist phone is hard, and sometimes a couple of new features can go a long way.
