French Door Fridges

What is a french door fridge?

A french door refrigerator or a double door fridge, has one continuous fridge space that can be accessed using two doors.
Depending on the model, the freezer can have either one door or two. Similar to a bottom mount fridge these fridges are constructed to feature the fridge above the freezer.

Are french door fridges better?

Determining which fridge is the right choice for your home will depend on a range of factors including space, living situation, family size etc.

The benefits of a french door fridge mostly come down to storage space, accessibility, and aesthetics. While all Samsung fridges are designed to look modern and chic in any household, the double door design is known to pair well with the décor of most spaces. Some design elements might include flat-door design, recessed handles, and an antimicrobial coating to help protect from bacteria.

Additional features can include an auto ice-maker, Internal Beverage Centre™, Twin Cooling Plus™, and Family Hub™ Smart capabilities.

Samsung’s french door refrigerators offer wide and deep storage spaces as well as flexible storage options both in the fridge and on the dual doors. This range is a good fit for larger families with lots of mouths to feed. For those with small-medium families, side by side or top mount fridges may be better options.

How much storage does a french door fridge have?

When it comes to storage, Samsung’s fridges offer a range of options from 488L all the way up to 810L. All the fridges in the range also include storage in the door to help you free up internal fridge space. The deep door bins have plenty of space to store large bottles and jugs.

Samsung currently offers fridges with capacities of 488L, 495L, 596L, 637L, 640L, 647L, 648L, 649L, and 810L. For those feeding a huge family, you might need more than 650L, and for those who live alone, even less than 500L might be plenty.

Either way, Samsung has a french door fridge that will suit your needs. For more information on what size fridge is right for you, check out Samsung’s refrigerator buying guide.
