What you'll be doing Design and implement features. This could include anything from building out the models and data structures to the UI millions of users will see. Pair with the other engineers on your team to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code. Partner with the other teams within engineering to build new primitives and use other teams' as well. Mentor other engineers and help grow them into senior engineers. Work with product managers, designers, and product marketers to cut through ambiguity and find the way forward. What you should have 5 + years of full-stack experience. Our tech stack is primarily React, TypeScript, Python, and you'll be expected to have a high degree of expertise in those. You should be comfortable writing APIs and services that can scale. You have a sense for product and design. We don't operate in silos, and you'll be collaborating closely with cross-functional peers. You should be able to express opinions and collaborate to make something great. You understand the craft of software development and can level up those around you. You take a holistic approach to problem solving. You believe in solving a problem from first principles rather than simply shipping a solution. You learn from your mistakes and work through obstacles with the rest of the team. While there isn't a hard requirement for experience, most people in this role have around 4-5 years of experience as a software engineer. Bonus Points Experience being a Technical Lead on a a team. Comfortability with mobile app development. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $190,000 to $204,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. I'm probably going to regret this, but I'm posting anyway. My team has an open position. Yes, we are hiring. 1 position due to team growth. Remote: no Level: SR - not negotiable. This is not a case of "if they like you they will down level for you". I seriously, and I mean seriously, do not have the capacity to bring in someone less than SR right now. It wouldn't be fair to you, me, or the team. Leetcode Interview: no. Take home project: yes, I have to make sure you can code. It's small, and if you're really SR you can do it in very little time. Is your take home solving a problem you're stuck on? Nope, it's a slimmed down version of a problem I solved long ago. Again, just checking your abilities without the pressure of live coding. My team is 3 people. We're cool. We're chill. We don't do things in the traditional corporate way or FAANG way. We do what works for us. We make jokes, use emojis and giphys, and have fun. We have code standards we enforce, we don't nit pick PRs, and we move quick. Lightning quick. We work with each other, not against each other. No toxicity. Do not send me your resumes. This is my biggest regret when I became a founder. . . . That I didn't start earlier. Instead of building other people's product, I could've been building my own portfolio of profitable assets. Before 2023, it wasn't easy. You either need to know to code or have money to hire developers. Not anymore. Thanks to low code and AI Tools, non-coders like me can build full fledged cross platform apps in 3-4 weeks without hiring developers, for close to 0 dollars. Thing 1 : Yeah the sports betting company. Thing 2 : Oh. I thought Rob said he worked in #technology? Thing 1 : No, they are definitely a sports betting company.... Or are we..... 😎 In my (almost) first full year working for #fanduel, its a statement I have heard a lot... "FanDuel, yeah the sports betting company" And that's correct. Kind of. What most folks don't realize is that (in my own humble opinion at least 😜), we are actually a technology company. We just happen to offer an #awesome sports betting product! Yes for sure, in our humble beginnings many moons ago in the annals of Flutter Entertainment Plc we were a through and through sports betting company and at those beginnings, technology was not at the heart of what we were. But that was a long time ago, and that is not who we are now. Now, we build some of the coolest technology in the industry, and beyond. Now, we construct massively high throughput, massively low latency, highly distributed and scalable systems that carry out more transactions per second than many of the big banks. Now, we have engineering teams based across multiple continents that build platforms that distribute our product to our twelve major branded divisions and beyond across the globe. We also use a huge amount of different technologies to power all of this across our entire organization. (We even have a future tech team to allow us to understand what advances in technology such as AI and machine learning mean for us and how we might leverage them as we develop new products to excite and entertain our customers. 😍) But why am I telling you this? Because growth breeds opportunity... And we are growing. Fast. And as a result of this growth, our team is #hiring to help continue to build new product for our customers and keep our no1 position in the US sports betting market.
