Results oriented people leader - helping Technology and People come together one conversation at a time
20%... our beautiful world is made up of INDIVIDUALS people who are intrinsically made unique. The more we try to fit people in boxes the more we separate ourselves from that beauty. As leaders we should embrace the qualities everyone brings to the team. Leadership is a major responsibility. Understanding how to communicate, coach, mentor and lead others who think, speak and look different is crucial for a truly inclusive workplace. But understanding WHY this inclusion is necessary is where many fall short. If our teams are made up solely of people like ourselves, we'll never be open to new perspectives... that lead to new ideas. I don't know about you, but collaborating with a mirror doesn't sound like much will derive from that brainstorming sesh. 20% is not enough! As a neurospicy leader, I've had to find ways to navigate through a world that was designed by and for neurotypical people. It's time we made space for everyone, empathy is the key to understanding how to pave a new and colorful road for all.
Only 20% of people with disabilities, including those with autism, are employed, despite having the skillset and desire to work. We have a solution for that. Workplace Inclusion Now (WIN). https://okt.to/TrchSm

Today, as we mark 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we're proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals within our business who are on the autism spectrum. Their contributions enrich our organization at every level, from leadership positions to the dedicated individuals on the ground. Meet Timothy Jones, our National Occupational Health & Safety, Risk, and Compliance Manager. "As the National Occupational Health & Safety, Risk, and Compliance Manager at MA, I am grateful for the unwavering support and respect I've received since day one. From the very beginning, MA has done everything to accommodate my needs as someone who is on the autism spectrum. They've created a workspace that feels safe and comfortable, ensuring that I can bring my best self to work each day. They also provided me with extra resources. Regular check-ins from my colleagues not only demonstrate their genuine care but also provide me with the reassurance that my well-being is a top priority. Feeling supported in the workplace isn't just about physical accommodations—it's about fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and respected for who they are. At MA, I've found exactly that." At MASG, we are committed to fostering a workspace that's safe, inclusive, and welcoming. Here's a glimpse into some of the initiatives we've implemented to ensure every member of our team feels valued and supported. 𝐏𝐏𝐒 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Our Post Placement Support team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of every team member. Specifically, they regularly check in with staff who are neurodivergent or socially disadvantaged, offering personalized support to ensure they feel fully supported and empowered in their roles. 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: We believe in the power of collaboration to drive positive change. That's why we've forged partnerships with disability employment providers like atWork Australia, APM and Matchworks to create meaningful opportunities for individuals with diverse abilities. 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: We understand the importance of education and empathy in creating a truly inclusive environment. That's why we launched comprehensive neurodiversity awareness training for all our staff. This initiative not only enhances understanding but also promotes acceptance and appreciation of differences. #worldautismawarenessday #autismawareness #maservicesgroup

Looking to make a positive impact in your workplace, but worried about the challenges that may come with it? Make sure your hiring processes allow those with developmental disabilities to be rightfully included, and you won’t regret it. The importance of focusing on the unique skills and abilities of individuals with developmental disabilities rather than treating them as a charity case is something that, unfortunately, many businesses are forgetting. By understanding their needs and providing necessary accommodations and support, we can foster a truly inclusive and supportive workplace while adding some incredible talent into the mix. Today kicks off Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a chance to celebrate the strengths of the ND people in our community. So, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our clients who’s doing incredible work in this space! Autism Queensland Limited helps children, adults and families thrive by providing education, therapy and other support. We recently partnered with them to articulate their unique employee value proposition (EVP), developed through collaboration with their people. We found a deeply compassionate, connected and committed group of people. They’re extremely proud of the impact they can have here. When developing their EVP, we identified this purpose, impact and connection as a key theme. But we also found opportunities to learn and develop, a supportive leadership team, and a balanced approach to their work. If the point of an EVP is to answer the question, ‘Why work for us,’ it just makes sense to ask the people who already work for you. Swipe across to see what their people say. 👉 Explore Autism Queensland Limited’s careers site here: https://lnkd.in/gwDDSDZ3 P.S Watch this space - more stories about the incredible people who work here are coming soon! #NeurodiversityWeek #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #ThisIsND #NCW
