Founder & CEO @ Startup Scouts| Founder & Chief Technology Officer @ Rhode Ventures| Product Advisor To Tech Startups | Executive Tech Career Coach For Women
This is how I took my green banner down in 14 days 🎉 For context, I re-entered the job market in 2023 for Product Management & Library Director roles, and landed interviews in tech & outside of tech at Google Cornell University Amazon, to name a few. I achieved this by parterning with other women for Mock Interviews & Accountability Study Halls! If you can get in a space, where you see other women job seekers, model: -Accountability -Focus -And above all, empathy & kindness instead of negativity, unseen competition, and an unsupportive environment, your success is inevitable. One of the reasons why it's harder for adult job seekers who are pivoting into tough job markets, such as tech, is because we are so far removed from college, studying, taking classes and exams. Of course, as adults in marriages, managing our households, holding down our 9-5s, incorporating time for family and friends, We can't be as focused as our younger counterparts-who can easily sit for 9 hours and just✨ leet code and grind✨. When I entered spaces where I saw women sitting at their laptops, not scrolling on social media, working through their certification classes, it changed something within me. I too, wanted to emulate this behavior and also have the support of other women job seekers in a private, safe space. Which is why, after reducing my spring course load from 24 credits to just 6 (*I don't know WHAT I was thinking 🤣) I now offer a private, safe community for Women Job Seekers 🎉 Additionally, new members that join by Saturday will receive a FREE RESUME🙋🏽♀️ To get in on this, comment "Interested" and I'll send you next steps to join! LinkedIn France Country Manager / EMEA-LATAM Academic and Government vertical Lead /Non Executive Director
Thank you very much to my fellow panelist of Women's Forum for the Economy & Society (A Publicis Groupe company), Charlotte Montpezat and Dayle Haddon a for the inspiring session we had together and thank you Emmanuelle Leon for the amazing and insightful moderation! It was a great pleasure to share on how to reduce the impact of age discrimination on women’s career and development. We all know the world's moving fast, right? With all the buzz around AI and green skills, companies are practically racing to snag the best talent out there. What we're seeing at LinkedIn, with One billion professionals on the platform, is this big wave of 'skills-first' hiring. It's like, forget where you went to school or your last job title, tell me what you can do. And it's not just talk. 75% of recruiters reckon this skills-first approach isn't just a fad—it's the future. And get this, nearly half of them are already on board, doing it right now. This shift, it's a game-changer, especially for the seasoned pros—folks over 45. By focusing on what people can do, not just their age or background, companies are finding nine times more qualified people. Imagine that, nine times! Now, for anyone looking for a job, it's all about the skills you bring to the table. And I'm not just talking about the hard skills. Soft skills, like being creative, adaptable, and having a growth mindset, those are gold dust for employers. Take green jobs, for instance. It's not enough to be an expert; you've got to be able to think on your feet, to innovate. And, if you've taken time off or been involved with a nonprofit, that's not a gap in your resume, that's a badge of honor. It shows you're a person who's more than just your work. You've got a very valuable life experience. So, my advice? 👉 Own your skills, every single one of them. Show off that creativity, that passion, that time you led a project or organized a community event. Because when it comes down to it, that's the stuff that'll make you stand out. That's what makes you, well, you. And in the skill-first world, that's exactly what everyone's looking for. 👉 To anyone hesitating because you think times passed you by, I’m here to say it loud and clear: It hasn’t. Your experiences, your knowledge, your life—they’re timeless. There’s a spot for you where you’ll be valued, where you can thrive.

Cloud Operations Manager at Trimble, technology leader specializing in cloud transformation, and DEI leader/learner with a focus on women in tech
The first IT job I ever had was at a women-led, women-owned business. I had applied not knowing this. When I interviewed, I was so nervous I froze up at the initial interview. It was one question, and I had to ask the hiring manager to repeat himself. I didn’t hear back for weeks and thought for sure I had bombed. I emailed the hiring manager anyways and asked if there were any updates? He emailed me back the next day saying I was the top candidate and he would be sending me an offer! It turned out to be a great experience where I learned and grew exponentially. What did I learn from that experience? 💫Never assume you’re out of the game; stay unassuming and follow up with the manager and recruiter if you haven’t heard back. 🏘️Local, brick and mortar businesses are a good way to break into industries. 🏁Someone out there is willing to take a chance on you. Last but definitely not least, if you’re a woman trying to break into tech, it definitely doesn’t hurt to surround yourself with supportive people, aka other women and ally’s. Do your research 🔬 find your people! #womenintech #laborday #mondaymotivation #diversityequityinclusion #womenleadership #hirewomen #jobseeking And if you’re looking for a network of women in tech look no further than WomEngineers, my personal incubator and non profit for women! 💖

Director Scientific Services and Operations SaaS | Ethical and Inclusive Digital Transformation | Award-winning Inclusion Strategist | Trustee | International Keynote Speaker | Certified WorkLife Coach | Cultural Broker
[Week highlight] Getting more women on boards! Last Sunday, I posted on Reddit - women in tech and women engineers subreddits - an old article about how I landed my first Trustee position. I got a lot of comments and feedback that I classified in 4 buckets 1.- The discoverers - “I never thought about this”, “I’m now going to look for opportunities.” - The post helped them gain awareness about this career opportunity. 2.- The self-doubters - “I need to prepare”, “I’m not ready yet” - They felt the need to share that they felt “not ready”. Would they ever feel? 3.- The procrastinators - “Thanks for the reminder”, “I know I should do that”, “It’s in my todo list” - They know that they should be doing it but they aren’t doing it. 4.- The productive procrastinators “how do I find the roles?”, “how many hours a month?”, “how much is that paid?” - They were asking questions - that Google could have answered - as a way of delaying action. Then, in the middle of the week, somebody who has said the post has inspired them to search for a role provided an update: She got her first interview! And even if she doesn’t get the position, I’m hopeful that’s only matter of time. What is your next step in your board career path? #WomenInBusiness #WomenInLeadership #Governance #Boards #WomenInTech https://lnkd.in/eT5UZYgy

Neurodiversity Navigator. Inclusion Instigator. Access Advocate. Energetic Educator. Passionate Presenter. Witty Writer.
It's Monday, and my cheeks hurt. 😶 Why? From smiling! 😃 Rewriting the Code wrapped our 4th annual virtual career summit on Friday and it was truly magical. 💪🏾 So many women (over 2k!!) feeling empowered in tech and powerful in their full identities. 💪🏾 So many companies showing up committed to increasing gender and racial representation in their technical roles. 💪🏾 So many incredible speakers and panelists dropping wisdom, strategy, and encouragement. 💪🏾 So many women making connections with other women 💪🏾 So many announcements about expansions and what's next! Listen, access to recruiting opportunities should not be cost-prohibitive. 📣 I'll say it again: Access to recruiting opportunities should not be cost-prohibitive. If we are truly celebrating the talent, the abundance, and the criticality of racial and gender diversity in the workplace, then the access points should not be bottlenecked by the haves and have nots. Full stop. 🛑 I am grateful and honored to be part of an organization that is "creating mirrors and shattering glass ceilings" without the barriers of economic inequity. #RewritingtheCode #HireMoreWomeninTech #WomeninTech #BlackinTech #NativeinTech #LatinasinTech #InclusioninTech #WomeninCS

Thank you, Fabienne ARATA-CAMPS! It has been an incredible stroke of luck to have been with you and Dayle Haddon, with Emmanuelle Leon as a moderator for this inspiring discussion. #Sexism and #ageism are indeed considered the most severe forms of discrimination according to the World Labour Organization. This implies that even if we possess remarkable qualities, they may not be recognized and valued as they deserve. 🔥 Women work more, for longer years, and yet earn less. Today, in France, we are 17 million women aged over 45. 9 million of us are of working age. What about the future? Will the numbers increase? YES. No nation can afford to neglect this segment of its population. 🔵 A New Era : We must also acknowledge that we are the first generation of women to age with such energy, vitality, and creativity, owing to the social, medical, and political advancements that have impacted our lives. Consequently, we are tasked with charting the course forward, and being the pioneers is never an easy task. To effect change, action is required from: 🔥 Ourselves: We must be the first to believe in our own capabilities. 🔥 Media: Cease portraying women solely in their twenties! 🔥 Employers: Recognize and appreciate the incredible skills possessed by seasoned women. 🔥 Institutions: Take proactive measures to address and combat discrimination. We must persevere on this issue, both for ourselves and for organizations as they reap benefits from diversity. Also, it's the future of our daughters. It's always too early to become invisible, and never too late to shine!

66% of women lacking clear career advancement paths in their companies. Women are 1.6 times more likely to face layoffs than men, often due to less seniority. Additionally, 57% of women in Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) plan to leave their jobs within two years, citing poor work/life balance. The 2022 tech layoffs disproportionately affected women, with 69.2% of those laid off being female, based on a WomenTech Network study of 4912 profiles from 54 companies. As a former tech professional turned career and leadership coach, these statistics hit close to home. It's disheartening to see the challenges women face in the industry, from unclear career paths to disproportionate layoffs and poor work/life balance. However, it fuels my passion even more to empower and support women in tech to overcome these barriers and thrive both personally and professionally. Let's work together to create a more equitable and inclusive environment where every woman can succeed. Do these numbers hit home for anyone else? Let me know in the comments. There's power in knowing we're not the only one! #WomenInTech #CareerEmpowerment #InclusionAndDiversity
