As I reflect on my journey into the world of software development, I can't help but feel immense gratitude for the incredible community I've found through Women Who Code. 💻✨ For the past year, I've had the privilege of volunteering with Women Who Code, hosting monthly study groups covering a range of topics in web development such as React, complex Javascript topics, and algorithms. These study groups aren't just about learning new skills; they're about fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for women breaking into the tech field. Being part of this community has been transformative for me. Not only have I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and support others on their learning journeys, but I've also been continuously inspired by the passion and determination of the women I've met along the way. Attending meetups and events organized by Women Who Code has provided me with invaluable networking opportunities, mentorship, and friendships that have aided my growth in software development. Whether it's collaborating sharing resources, or simply encouraging one another, the sense of camaraderie within this community is truly unparalleled. 🌐❤️ Through Women Who Code, I've not only honed my technical skills but also developed the confidence and resilience needed to navigate the challenges of the tech industry. I've learned that success isn't just about individual achievements; it's about lifting each other up and creating space for all voices to be heard. As I continue on my journey, I'm excited to pay it forward and empower more women to pursue their dreams in tech. Breaking barriers in tech as a black woman... I’m a black woman in tech. In 2021 I founded a software company Business Balance Systems Software (also known as BBSS) and it has been a ride. What I realize: *The mentorship and guidance I sought were scarce. *Trust wasn't readily given as easily as it is given to my counterparts. Yet, through this, I've experienced tremendous personal and professional growth, despite the limitations imposed by societal norms. 💪 I'm proud of: *Overcoming adversity as a woman of color in the industry. *Establishing BBSS and making strides in the tech space. Tonight, I attended the “Mentorship Panel: Changing Careers” event organized by Women Who Code. I had the opportunity to be among many inspiring leaders and hear about their journey into Tech. The key takeaway for me was the importance of maintaining a positive self-dialogue, which involves reflecting on personal achievements. When completing a task, it’s important to reflect on what I learned, why it is important, and the challenges that I overcame. This strategy is effective in combating imposter syndrome. #wwcode

Being a woman👩💻 in a man-dominated field such as Software Development can easily make you mimicking male energy and behavior. But in reality your unique feminine energy can become a booster for your team and your professional development. Last week I was delighted to join an amazing Tech event Code Pub for women and other underrepresented genders organized by Netlight&Choco. It became a good reminder for myself that: ✨ I am not alone in this journey ✨ There are so many women outside who work hard, learn, develop themselves and grow ✨ These women are as much into coding as I am and it goes well with lifting my motivation up #womenintech #womenempowerment #softwareengineer
