🎵I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too 🎵 The tv show and the cast that changed TV and encapsulates the pop culture and the entire generation ->TV show that re-imagined the idea of the family in more than one way, including what at the time was relative rare- a same-sex wedding ->1st episode of Friends hit 22MM viewers. Finale aired to 52MM, a decade later. ->The friends group was a mix of men/women ->The cast changed how actors negotiated for salaries ->TV show's appeal extended beyond the screens and episodes: advertisers realized that the NY 20-somethings with seemingly endless disposable income and aspirational lifestyles were the perfect people to market to (The One with Apothecary table, anyone?!) ->During the lockdown, the TV show shot up to the top of most watched TV shows on streaming channels ->New types of male archetype was showcased -> And the cast continued to have impact years later by opening up about their struggles and long journey finding their own way -> And while for some, the tv show is problematic, it became a favourite tv show for gen Z While trends and drivers of change shape our lives externally, our consumers (people) are moved by their interests, passion points and people they connect with. It's no doubt that Friends TV show connected with many people in the US, the English-speaking world, and even beyond. #popculture #fandom #friendstvshow

"The Simpsons" is experiencing a renaissance in 2023 after a long period of decline. The show's recent episodes are being hailed as ambitious, poignant, and funny, recapturing the emotional core that was lost during the "Dark Ages." Under the leadership of showrunner Matt Selman, the writers have been given more creative freedom and have been encouraged to experiment, resulting in fresh and innovative storytelling. The show is also exploring millennial issues, reflecting the changing times and attracting a new generation of viewers through #streaming platforms like Disney Streaming's Disney+. Despite its long history, "The Simpsons" remains popular, with high demand and a dedicated fan base: It is the eighth-most in-demand show on television in the U.S., at its peak having seen a 24 percent increase in demand between seasons 32 and 34. "The Simpsons" needed narrative-driven innovations and character development as key factors in revitalizing content and capturing #audiencedemand: How can your content tap into new dimensions of storytelling to resonate with a wider audience? #IYKYK As I was binge-watching the Amazon series The Grand Tour, I got to thinking...What is more important - the people who feature on it, or the show itself? These three - James May, Richard Hammond, and Jeremy Clarkson - are the hosts of The Grand Tour show. They first came into prominence as hosts of the BBC TV program Top Gear which was first aired in 2002. Top Gear was so popular that it actually got featured in the Guinness World Records 2013 Edition for being the world's most-watched factual TV program. Then, in 2015 due to a fall-out with the producers, these three hosts were replaced or left the show. They were immediately signed by their current producers to create the new show in 2016. The Grand Tour followed a similar format as Top Gear in the first 2 seasons. They did make changes from season 3 onwards. I went to IMDb.com just to check the ratings. Surprisingly, both shows have the exact same rating - 8.7 / 10. Closer examination reveals a slightly different picture...The Grand Tour has a steady rating from the first episode. However, for Top Gear, from season 23 onward, the ratings for Top Gear dropped drastically...I wonder why!? ;-) Have you watched either show? Which one do you like? Are you tired of watching the same old reality shows on TV? 😴 Do you wish there was something more original and fun to watch? 🤩 Then you might want to check out #BuddyGames, the only new show that lets you see how adult friends compete in hilarious summer camp games! 🏕️🎮 It’s a refreshing change from the boring and repetitive fall schedule that the networks are offering us. 😒 Don’t you think it’s time to demand more creativity and diversity from the TV industry? 🙌 Don’t let them treat us like passive consumers of their bland content. 💯 Let’s show them that we value quality over quantity, and that we deserve better entertainment! 🙌 Check out this fascinating article in the New York Times: Fall TV Reflects the Hollywood Strikes, but Not How You Think https://lnkd.in/gTrfnTzQ It's fascinating insight because it examines how current TV schedules end up reflecting the strikes — not because they appear drastically different, but rather because their monotonous sameness serves as a reminder of the problems that caused the work stoppages — namely, that everything is only "content," and the only form of value that matters is monetary worth. #NoMoreStrikes #TVRevolution #BuddyGamesFan

'The Last of Us' episode five will premiere two days early on HBO Max. Fans of HBO's The Last of Us who are also into football were facing a bit of a quandary this weekend: catch the latest episode live and avoid the risk of spoilers, or tune into the Super Bowl? Thankfully, HBO Max is making that decision much easier. The fifth episode of the excellent adaptation of Naughty Dog's game will hit the streaming service and HBO On Demand two days early. You'll be able to stream the episode starting at 9PM ET this Friday. It will still air in its usual 9PM ET timeslot on HBO's cable channel on Sunday, but many fans may opt to watch the titanic tussle between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles instead. This is a smart, one-off move from HBO as The Last of Us is already a massive hit, with viewership figures that have grown from week to week. It has already been renewed for a second season. The linear airing of the next episode is likely to get hammered in the ratings by the Super Bowl, but this could help HBO maintain the show's momentum and distance the TLOU discourse from football this weekend. This isn't the only time that The Last of Us is facing stern competition throughout its first season. Last night, it went up against the Grammy Awards and the season finale will air the same night as the Oscars. The Banshees of Inisherin is great ]and all (I still have to catch up on most of the Best Picture nominees), but I know what I'll be watching on March 12th.In case you haven't checked out HBO's take on The Last of Us yet, you can watch the first, feature-length episode for free on HBO Max if you're in the US. Folks in the UK can catch the spectacular premiere on YouTube. https://lnkd.in/dTqmkidt
