Quiet Sound has been honored with the Environmental Education and Outreach Award by the Port of Seattle's Sustainable Century Awards! Quiet Sound's voluntary vessel slowdown initiative in the Admiralty Inlet corridor has significantly reduced underwater noise since 2022 by up to 50%, benefiting Southern Resident killer whales by improving their acoustic environment. Through collaborative efforts across sectors, 71% of commercial vessels participated in the most recent fall/winter seasonal slowdown, demonstrating our region's commitment to environmental stewardship and marine conservation. Together, we're making waves for a sustainable future! #QuietSound #EnvironmentalLeadership #SustainableCentury #MarineConservation #SouthernResidentKillerWhales

Back from Seattle, energized by the conversations on maritime workforce development and increasing retention. Thank you Washington Maritime Blue for putting on such a wonderful event. It was great swing by and check in with the teams at Argosy Cruises, Trident Seafoods and ioCurrents as well. I got to eat lunch at the locks and watch two of my favorite boats go through. Western Towboat Company the Pacific Titan is looking great! Best part of my visit was showing up to the event in matching outfits with my dad by accident. #innovation #maritimeindustry #maritime

Happy World Oceans Day! Today is dedicated to catalyzing collective action for a healthy ocean and a stable climate, an issue near and dear to Maritime Blue. Reflecting on an event hosted earlier this year with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), focused on convening the Greater NW ocean ecosystem around the decarbonization aspects of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Ocean Climate Action Plan (OCAP): · The Action Plan is the first US "whole of government" plan to merge ocean policy goals with the broader set of pathways to decarbonize the economy and address climate change. · The OCAP also emphasizes the importance of coastal resilience, integrating equity and green infrastructure, and engaging with coastal communities. · The NW research community, policymakers, and federal and state government entities are poised to advance our existing collaborations to support the OCAP and Blue Economy as a whole. We’re so proud of our partnerships, both stateside and internationally, to further these efforts and drive towards a stronger, cleaner and more sustainable future! Take a peek at the event summary to learn more about how the OCAP, the challenges to its implementation, and ways the NW is thinking about helping drive action. https://lnkd.in/dwwShs5w

The Blue Ventures Showcase isn't just for new startups! We welcome Nate Gilman and MM-SEAS USCG Licensing Software, an Maritime Blue program alumni, to speak about their success in the maritime industry. Join us on Friday at the National Nordic Museum! A few tickets remain: https://lu.ma/d4loi464

Come join MM-SEAS USCG Licensing Software at the Washington Maritime Blue Ventures Showcase in Seattle on Friday, June 7th!  We’re thrilled to be part of the showcase and present as an alumni celebrating the ongoing achievements of our MM-SEAS USCG Licensing Software team. We’re even more excited to announce our team’s next major pain point to solve for professional mariners: the frustration and errors associated with the sea service letter process. Our conversations with mariners consistently reveal that timely and accurate sea service documentation ranks alongside pay, food, and benefits in terms of importance. It's clear this is a critical issue! Here's the flip side: Port and Vessel Operations teams are drowning in complexity. Managing COI requirements for 17+ boats, generating letters from payroll exports, and then manually calculating everything for a single letter? There's got to be a better way. Our mission is to streamline sea service tracking and letter generation – we will use our sea service tracking and CG-719S for generating products we’ve developed for recreational boaters to make sea service tracking and letter generation as simple as our USCG licensing application process inside of our software. Imagine mariners effortlessly tracking their progress towards their next license, with accurate paperwork generated in seconds. Calling all PNW professionals! Are you involved in managing sea time tracking or creating sea service letters? We’d love to connect at the showcase and learn more about your current processes. Together, let's explore how MM-SEAS can empower your team and support your employees' professional development. See you in Seattle! #MaritimeBlueVentures #SeaServiceLetters #USCGMariners #SimplifySeaTime P.S. Feel free to share your sea service challenges in the comments below!
