In the aftermath of severe storms in Northwest Arkansas earlier this week, Walmart, Sam's Club and the Walmart Foundation are rallying to support the community we call home. Together, we're committed to providing up to $2 million to immediate relief as well as long-term recovery. We're collaborating with nonprofits and suppliers to offer resources: from free meals to WiFi hotspots and charging stations, to mobile laundry and shower services. As we head into Memorial Weekend, learn how Walmart is helping The Doughboy Foundation honor the 4.7 million Americans who served in WWI with a 58.5-foot bronze wall slated to be unveiled in Washington, D.C.’s Pershing Park this September. ‘A Soldier’s Journey’ is the largest freestanding high-relief bronze in the western hemisphere, and with technological components that have never been applied to a memorial at such scale, the sculpture blends art and technology in unprecedented new ways. We've mobilized quickly to support our neighbors in Houston after severe storms recently hit the area. Today, Walmart, Sam's Club and the Walmart Foundation are committing $500,000 to support local organizations providing relief. Truckloads of food, water and hygiene supplies have already arrived, with more donations on the way. 💙
