About us
It’s hard for anyone to imagine just how many different career possibilities there are at Asda. Ours is a big business, and beyond the roles you might be familiar with on the shop floor (or on your doorstep), there are hundreds of others you don’t get to see. In fact, because our business is changing so rapidly, there are new roles being created at Asda all the time. Technology is changing how we do things every day, helping us to reimagine retail to make life better for our customers, in-store and online. For those with imagination, can-do, integrity and a willingness to embrace change, the possibilities at Asda are limitless. Take a look around and see where a career at Asda could take you.

As we celebrate Pride Month, here at Asda, we are incredibly proud to support all our colleagues, customers, suppliers & followers within the LGBTQ+ community, and we’re committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where colleagues are happy and confident to bring their true, authentic selves to work. We love to celebrate Pride with our colleagues and customers. Earlier this year for the first time ever we launched a competition for colleagues to design our George at Asda Pride t-shirt. Drew Nicholls from our People Services team was our lucky winner and it's been amazing seeing her design come to life and on the shop floor in our stores! Watch the moment Drew visited our Trafford store and saw her t-shirt on sale for the first time. Well done Drew…! 💙 💚 💛 🧡 💜 🖤 ❤️ https://lnkd.in/ewHiNss5

Today is the start of Men's Health Week which runs until the 16th of June. Various events and activities are held to raise awareness about important health issues that affect men, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and heart disease. Men are often less likely than women to seek medical help when they have health concerns, so this week serves as a reminder for men to prioritise their health and well-being. 💚 To support Men's Health Week, individuals can take action by getting regular check-ups, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, managing stress, and avoiding unhealthy behaviours. By raising awareness and promoting healthy behaviours, we can help men live longer, healthier lives. Let's make men's health a priority and start important conversations about health and wellness during Men's Health Week and beyond. 🤝 💚 #Asda #MensHealthWeek #Awarness

Today we have announced that TDR Capital have increased their investment in Asda by acquiring Zuber Issa’s share in the business, with the transaction set to complete in Q3 2024. TDR Capital invested in Asda alongside the Issa brothers and took full ownership of the business in June 2021. Since then, together with the other shareholders, TDR has supported Asda to accelerate its strategy, with a particular focus on delivering low prices to customers and expanding into the fast-growing convenience retail segment. Over the past three years, TDR, alongside the other shareholders, the executive team and Board, have made significant progress in transforming the Asda business, growing to 1,200 stores and food to go sites, launching Asda Rewards, which now has six million customers and investing in our colleagues through the highest rate of pay for retail hourly colleagues in the traditional supermarket sector. We are excited to accelerate our strategy and drive sustainable long-term growth, building on the progress the business has already made since 2021.

We are pleased to announce that we are expanding our ‘back of store’ food donation scheme with the support of FareShare UK and Olio • Share More, Waste Less, as we continue our progress to redistribute surplus food and reduce waste. Since 2013, we’ve proudly worked with FareShare to provide the equivalent of over 38 million meals to food charities and local community groups. Through this new three-way partnership, we can increase the number of donation opportunities at our larger stores, ensuring more surplus food reaches those in need when local food charities are unable to collect.

Asda Tickled Pink, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! work closely together to make checking your boobs, pecs or chest as normal as your Asda shop. Through impactful and disruptive campaigns and on the ground interventions that will ultimately improve chest checking behaviour, we’re putting breast cancer awareness on everyone's list. Now in our 28th year, the partnership has raised over £90 million since 1996, and is on track to exceed our target of raising over £100 million by 2026. The support across the business has helped to propel our partnership into a new league. From our senior leaders and commercial teams securing over 200 products from supporting suppliers; large scale events and challenges, to the passionate and relentless colleague and customer fundraising by our in store Community Champions and colleagues across the business. A huge thank you to everyone across Asda who continues to support Tickled Pink. We encouraged 684,638 people to check their chest as a result of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) 2023 campaign and raised over £1.31 million from product sales and employee fundraising in October alone. Asda Tickled Pink is now one step closer to our goal of encouraging 1 million more people regularly checking their chests by 2026. 💚 💗 💚 💗

🌟 What an amazing experience we had with The Change Foundation UK last week supporting their London Futures project. This program supports young Londoners living with a disability, to find long term employment opportunities 🚀 We ran an employability workshop at our Asda Isle of Dogs store in London to allow this young adults to understand their skills and preferences for future employment, and did a walkaround with managers and colleagues to understand all the jobs available in our stores - from replenishment 🛒 to home delivery drivers 🚗 to pizza makers 🍕 (clearly a favourite). 💚 Many thanks to Ryan Jones for bringing this great program to us, and to Eesa Gwilym Jones, Kay Williams and all the brilliant team of our Isle of Dogs store, you makes us feel very welcome.
