Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, a tribute to the rich history, heritage, and dignity of Black Americans. The day also acknowledges some of the most difficult truths in our nation's story. Let us work together as a nation, taking positive steps toward achieving true equality and liberty for all.

Congratulations to Samaritan Hospital First Choice/6 Tower nurse Julie Watts, as she was recently named as a recipient of the prestigious DAISY award! Julie was nominated by the grateful fiancé of a patient: "I have seen Julie's commitment to keeping a professional attitude while also being extremely personable. Julie knew how to calm his nerves through her kind choice of words and demeanor … I know how difficult and exhausting (both mentally and physically) a 12-hour shift can be. Regardless of if it was in the morning or at night - Julie was able to maintain a 5-star patient experience. Her effort and passion for her job as an RN does NOT go unnoticed. Thank you so very much, Julie!"

Legacy would be hard to embody in one image, but we may be close with this one. Today President and CEO of Trinity Health, West Region Odette Bolano, Sister Beth Mulvaney, Sister Madeleine Clayton, and Sister Mary Lou Wahler shared a final breakfast as they reflected on their time serving together. “We have been extremely blessed to have the presence of Sisters in important Mission roles for the last decade while many other Trinity Health Ministries and many Catholic Healthcare systems and hospitals lost their physical presence many years back,” Odette shared. “We treasure seeing our Sisters as they help us immediately reflect on their beautiful heritage and the legacy they have entrusted to us. We will continue to honor them every day in how we live our Mission and core values.” To continuing in the mission of compassionate, transformative care within our communities. Join us in celebrating their legacy below!

    Congratulations, Jenna! 🎉

Congratulations to Jenna Watson, a nurse at Samaritan Hospital's Burdett Birth Center, as she was recently named as a recipient of the prestigious DAISY award! Jenna was nominated by a grateful patient: "Jenna ‘saved my life’! After 48+ hours of induction, my baby girl finally decided to come into the world. She was my 3rd baby and the most painful labor. I thought I was going to die as I was giving birth. I started crying and hyperventiliating when Jenna came to my rescue!! Jenna placed her hand on my chest, looked me in the eye, and coached me back to calm breaths. When she looked me in the eye and told me I was going to be okay, I believed her like I have never believed anything before. She was my saving angel that day and whenever I whenever I think of my daughter's birth, I feel thankful to have had Jenna's calming and beautiful soul by my side.”
